MISSION & OBJECTIVE
Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival is an International Film Festival with an emphasis on genre films. Our mission is two-fold: to bring the best Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, Action, Thriller, Animation, Cult and Fan Films from around the world to Buffalo, New York, and to shine a spotlight on quality films produced by local talent. We are a filmmaker friendly festival and wish to show our city in its best light and foster rising talent. In 2013, we screened 85 films, which broke down to 26 features, 59 shorts, 27 international films, and 13 local productions, and 30 filmmakers from out of town came to our city to screen their work. Our hotel is close to our venue, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby, not to mention Niagara Falls. In general, we provide two free passes to the entire festival for each film we select for screening, but for out of town filmmakers willing to travel to attend, we will provide additional passes. Western New York Films are not restricted to the categories listed above; to help our growing film community, we will also accept WNY comedies and dramas for consideration.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Award winning filmmaker and novelist Gregory Lamberson and Chris Scioli helped launch Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival in Buffalo, New York in 2010. Over the course of three seasons, they built Buffalo Screams into a respected international platform and honored such filmmakers as Roy Frumkes (Street Trash, Document of the Dead), Debbie Rochon (Model Hunger, Slime City Massacre) and Brett Kelly (Scarab: Avenging Force, My Fair Zombie), all of whom attended. In 2013, they expanded the festival's scope to also include science fiction, fantasy, action, thriller, animation, cult and fan films - anything they deem cool - and honored Lloyd Kaufman with the Dedication to Indie Excellence Award and Albert Pyun with the Indie Genre Spirit Award.

Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival will run in Buffalo, New York from Friday, November 7th 2014 to Thursday, November 13th 2014. For 2014, the festival is adding a Feature Screenplay competition, "micro-short" categories for films six minutes or less, music video categories, and specific Western New York categories.
