HARD-TO-GET INFO • An event by this name may exist, but we have not been able to find even basic information about it. The listing remains available for your reference.

Feature Films (over 30 minutes)
Short Films (30 minutes or less)
Your film MUST be 20 minutes or under to qualify for this category.

This year the OIFF debuts the newly redesigned One Night Only event, to be held on Friday, November 11 at Bop Stop, in Cleveland, Ohio.

All submissions must focus on a theme; this year the theme is women in film. All submissions must meet one or both of the following criteria:

1. Be directed by a female or females
2. Pass the Bechdel Test (see www.bechdeltest.com).

Only the top two features of any genre, shorter than 120 minutes in length, and the top short films under 20 minutes in length, that meet the criteria, will be shown at this event!

There are no constraints on genre, content, subject matter, year completed, country of origin, or length. The OIFF only accepts submissions that do not already have a theatrical distribution deal in place.

The OIFF is dedicated to freedom of expression through independent media. The OIFF is programmed 100% from the films and videos submitted each year, an unusual filmmaker-friendly standard for festivals.

The OIFF was founded in 1993 by filmmakers frustrated by the lack of venues for independent work, particularly independent work from filmmakers who are not yet commercially successful.
