MISSION & OBJECTIVE

THIS YEAR'S FESTIVAL WILL OFFER OVER FIVE-THOUSAND ($5,000 CAN) in prize money spread over various film and acting categories!

Celebrating its 5th anniversary, the Fort McMurray International Film Festival seeks to introduce a wide range of international cinema to Northern Canada by featuring exceptional films from around the world as well as locally produced films.

The YMMiFF prides itself in showcasing films from broad and niche genres with the aim of showing off narrative and non-narrative talents.

This year will feature the return of the 48 Hour film contest running August 28 - 30 2015. Selections will be screened as part of this year's YMMiFF that runs September 4-6 2015.

The Fort McMurray Filmmakers Association encourages Filmmaking in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and beyond.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Founded in 2011, the Fort McMurray International Film Festival, originally known as the interPLAY Film Festival, has been the premiere film festival for the interPLAY Arts and Culture Festival of Northern Alberta. The festival was designed to feature local artists as well as international film makers by inviting a wide range of formats, styles and genres.

The Fort McMurray Film Makers Association, leading organizer of the YMMIFF, was formed and officially sanctioned under the Alberta Societies Act in April of 2013. The Fort McMurray Filmmakers Association (the YMMFMA) is a Incorporated Non-Profit Organization. Founded by five (5) community leaders with filmmaking and entertainment experience, the YMMFMA founding members works have been recognized locally within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, provincially, nationally and internationally.

By accepting the terms of submissions, the submitter is allowing the Fort McMurray International Film Festival organizers to use their films in part or in whole as promotional material for the 2015 Fort McMurray International Film Festival. Any artist wishing not to allow their films to be used in such a manner shall contact the festival's administration directly.
