Animation
All forms of productions in animation field are eligible for entry. The films entering competition must have either been filmed in Turkey or at least one member of the creative team (director, screenwriter, producer) must be a Turkish citizen.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
Los Angeles Turkish Film Festival is an event organized by HIF Corp. The purpose of LATFF is to promote awareness of Turkish Cinema in the West Coast, to provide future networking relations among young filmmakers, and to give the creative crew members (Director, Writer, Producer and Director of Photography) the opportunity to showcase their work in the heart of Los Angeles.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Los Angeles Turkish Film Festival is an event organized by HIF Corp. The purpose of LATFF is to promote awareness of Turkish Cinema in the West Coast, to provide future networking relations among young filmmakers, and to give the creative crew members (Director, Writer, Producer and Director of Photography) the opportunity to showcase their work in the heart of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Turkish Film Festival has only one competition section for short films. Festival screens internationally awarded Turkish feature films beside the short film competition. Every year, Festival collaborates international film festivals and screens international short films during the Festival.

Los Angeles Turkish Film Festival gives 1 Best Film Award, Golden Egg for the best short film and 2 Special Jury Award and 1 Audience Award.

LATFF's advisory board is made up of important American and Turkish scholars and film industry professionals. Our board includes scholars from two prominent film schools in the United States, Barbara Boyle who is the Associate Dean of Entrepreneurship and Special Initiatives for the School of Theater, Film and Television at UCLA and Kathy E. Smith who is the Chair of the John C. Hench Division of Animation & Digital Arts at USC. Elvis Mitchell, a well-known film critic and LACMA film curator is another American industry professional on our board. The board members from Turkey include internationally awarded independent film director, Derviş Zaim; recipient of the Golden Bear Award from the Berlin Film Festival, director Semih Kaplanoğlu; World Film Critics Association (FIPRESCI) Vice President, Alin Taşciyan; and Hollywood-based award-winning composer, Rahman Altin.

GENERAL RULES
1. All forms of productions in the fiction and animation fields are eligible for entry.
2. The films entering competition must have either been filmed in Turkey or at least one member of the creative team (director, screenwriter, producer) must be a Turkish citizen.
3. The films entering competition must not surpass 20 minutes in length.
4. The films entering competition must have been completed after January 1st, 2012.
5. Previously submitted films may not be re-submitted.
6. Those wishing to enter the competition must fill out the application form on http://www.withoutabox.com/login/12873
7. The final date for submitting the online application and postmarking the films is November 30th, 2013.
8. Uploaded film must have,
o - English subtitles If the film is in Turkish,
o - Both English and Turkish subtitles If the film is in a different language.
9. The Festival Organization will invite directors of the finalist films to Los Angeles and cover all accommodation costs. For any transportation costs the Festival Organization will provide a sum of $400 for at most one director of each film.
10. The "Best Film" award will be given to the director of the film. A sum of $2000 will be awarded for the "Best Film" category. If the jury deems it necessary, it may award 2 "Jury Special Awards." A sum of $750 will be awarded for the "Jury Special Awards."
11. Any and all copyright responsibility belongs to the filmmaker.
12. The finalist films will be announced on our website www.latff.org no later than January 2014.
13. The finalist films will be screened only in the following formats: 35mm, 16mm, Bluray and HDCAM. Correspondence regarding film screenings and screening format will take place with the official representatives of the films once the pre-selections are made.
14. All submissions following the above rules will be considered as valid submissions.
15. Including this item, the entry requirements consist of fifteen (15) items.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Los Angeles Turkish Film Festival's decision is final, and we cannot enter into discussion about films not accepted. You are the sole author of, or the absolute legal and beneficial owner of all rights of copyright in the material, free from any right or interest of any third party conditional or otherwise. You have authority to enter into these arrangements. If your film is chosen to screen in competition, we will send you an acceptance email and request a screening copy of your film. The screening copy must be received by the date stated in the acceptance email, or your film will not be screened. Tapes will be retained by the Festival until the screening date, after which films can be collected from the screening venue (after the screening) or from the LATFF office after the Festival. Insurance of tapes is the responsibility of the sender. The Organisers will not take responsibility for any loss or damage to entries. By submitting your entry you consent to, and have obtained all necessary consents for (and agree to provide copies of the same on request), all or any part of the production being reproduced by the Organisers and/or any other parties authorised by the Organisers and/or broadcast by a third party in any media (e.g. press, television, internet or telephone download), solely in relation to, and in support of, the Festival provided that, wherever reasonably possible, the author of the work is given appropriate notification and credit. Submissions that do not comply with the terms and conditions detailed on the submission form will be disqualified. Any alterations or withdrawals from the Festival MUST reach us within 10 days of festival acceptance notification in order for us to meet judging and print deadlines. No alterations can be made after this date.
