MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Student Filmmaker Awards is a film festival focused on providing students with the opportunity to showcase artistic and storytelling prowess through the medium of motion pictures.

GENERAL RULES
Films will be submitted as a link for viewing by the festival jury. Officially selected films will be required to submit a high quality version either physically or by file upload.
More than one entry may be submitted. Each entry must be submitted separately and will be subject to an entry fee.
All content must be original. Copyrighted music without distribution rights for your film is not allowed.
All entries must be from student filmmakers (within the last five years).
Films produced in languages other than English must have legible English subtitles or be dubbed in English. (unless special arrangements have been made with the festival).
Entrants are responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses, royalties, release forms, clearances, and permits necessary to present their work.
The selection committees’ and juries’ decisions are final.
Entry fee is nonrefundable.
The Student Filmmaker Awards Festival Directors reserve the right to make any necessary changes in regulations or festival scheduling.
Exceptions to the festival regulations must be authorized by one of the Festival Directors.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By submitting content for consideration of the Student Filmmaker Awards (SFA), you signify your agreement to these terms and guidelines (the “Terms and Guidelines”). If you do not agree to any of these terms please do not submit your content. As a student filmmaker, you may submit content to the Student Filmmaker Awards including video and audio. You understand that the Student Filmmaker Awards does not guarantee any confidentiality with respect to any content you submit. You shall be solely responsible for your own content and the consequences of submitting and publishing your content to the Student Filmmaker Awards. You affirm, represent, and warrant that you own or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to publish content that you submit; and you license to Student Filmmaker Awards all patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights in and to such content for publication on our website pursuant to these Terms and Guidelines. For clarity, you retain all of your ownership rights for your content. However, by submitting content to the Student Filmmaker Awards, you hereby grant worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the content in connection with the Student Filmmaker Awards and (and its successors’ and affiliates’) business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the content (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels. You further agree to allow Student Filmmaker Awards keep your email address and contact information on file as a method of contacting you about the festival and other festival related activities. Student Filmmaker Awards is free to use any comments, information, ideas, concepts, reviews, or techniques or any other material contained in any communication you may send to us (“Feedback”), including responses to questionnaires or through postings to the Student Filmmaker Awards website without further compensation, acknowledgement or payment to you for any purpose whatsoever including, but not limited to, developing, manufacturing and marketing products and creating, modifying or improving the Student Filmmaker Awards. You also hereby grant each user of the Student Filmmaker Awards’ website a non-exclusive license to access your content, and to use, reproduce, distribute, display and perform such content as permitted through the functionality of the Student Filmmaker Awards and under these Terms and Guidelines. The above licenses granted by you in video content you submit to the Student Filmmaker Awards terminate within a commercially reasonable time after your content has been removed or deleted from the Student Filmmaker Awards and our website. You understand and agree, however, that Student Filmmaker Awards may retain, but not display, distribute, or perform, server copies of your videos and content that have been removed or deleted. You further agree that content you submit to the Student Filmmaker Awards will not contain third party copyrighted material, or material that is subject to other third party proprietary rights, unless you have permission from the rightful owner of the material or you are otherwise legally entitled to post the material and to grant Student Filmmaker Awards all of the license rights granted herein. You agree further to indemnify and hold the Student Filmmaker Awards, its officers, agents and employees harmless from any liability, loss or damage you or Student Filmmaker Awards may suffer as a result of claims, demands, costs or judgments against either party arising out of the activities carried out pursuant to these Terms and Guidelines. Student Filmmaker Awards does not endorse any content submitted by any user or other licensor, or any opinion, recommendation, or advice expressed therein, and Student Filmmaker Awards expressly disclaims any and all liability in connection with content. Student Filmmaker Awards does not permit copyright infringing activities and infringement of intellectual property rights on our website, and will remove all content if properly notified that such content infringes on another’s intellectual property rights. Student Filmmaker Awards reserves the right to remove content without prior notice and at our own discretion. In addition, you agree to conform to the terms and conditions established by YouTube video service found on their website (http://www.youtube.com/t/terms). You also acknowledge that there is no relationship between YouTube and Student Filmmaker Awards. Further, Student Filmmaker Awards reserves the right to remove content from our website and awards consideration for animal abuse, drug abuse, underage drinking or smoking, graphic or gratuitous violence, pornography, hate speech, stalking or harassing, exploitation of children, copyright infringement, and dangerous or illegal acts.
