Welcome home Southern Film! For this special category all films originating from the southern states (AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, WV, VA, NC, SC, GA, FL) will be considered.


The mission of the El Dorado Film Festival is to deliver a new cultural experience to South Arkansas that fosters and uplifts a great appreciation of the art of film-making.


The El Dorado Film Festival begins its first year as one of the multiple cultural activities planned with the South Arkansas Arts Center 50th year anniversary celebration.

OVERVIEW: The 2014 El Dorado Film Festival (EFF) is presenting a competition organized and presented by the South Arkansas Arts Center (SAAC). The competition is open to all. Each completed film must be submitted no later than August 18, 2014. ELIGIBILITY: The 2014 EFF is open to all. TO ENTER: Participants must complete a registration form and agree to the terms, conditions and rules of the competition. REGISTRATION FEE: As determined by date by category. REGISTRATION PERIOD: Registration will take place beginning on April 14, 2014 and will close at 8:00 pm on August 18, 2014. Registrants must submit a completed registration form and pay entry fee. COSTS: All costs associated with the production of the Entry are solely the responsibility of the Entrant. JUDGING: Eligible Entries will be judged by a panel selected by the El Dorado Film Festival. SCREENING OF COMPETITION FILMS: All accepted entries will be screened during the 2014 El Dorado Film Festival. DEADLINES All films must be submitted no later than August 18, 2014. The deadline for submission of your film is a hard deadline. No films will be accepted or allowed any revisions after the submission deadline. NO EXCEPTIONS. DELIVERABLES A finished film either digital entry of DVD disc, completed submission form and entrant fee. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS All submitted films must meet high technical standards as determined by El Dorado Film Festival management. Films that have significant technical issues (bad audio, audio out of sync, etc.) may be disqualified from competition and not screened at the Festival. Entrants are strongly urged to make sure that the technical aspect of their film is of the highest quality possible. WINNERS/AWARDS: Winners will be announced Saturday, September 20, 2014, at the El Dorado Film Festival. A variety of awards and prizes will be presented to various winners of the competition. TERMS OF SUBMISSION: By submitting an Entry into this Festival, each Entrant warrants and represents that the Entrant owns all rights to the Entry he/she is entering in this Project, including, without limitation, the video or digital recording, and the performance contained in each Entry. Each Entrant further warrants and represents that the Entrant has obtained permission from each person who appears in the Entry. By submitting an Entry, Entrant agrees to the Official Rules, and further agrees to indemnify and hold EFF & SAAC management harmless from any and all claims, damages, expenses, costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) and liabilities (including settlements), brought or asserted by any third party against EFF & SAAC management due to or arising out of the Entrant’s Entry materials in this Festival, or the Entrant’s conduct during and in connection with this Festival, including but not limited to trademark, copyright, or other intellectual property rights, right of publicity, right of privacy or defamation. Entrant agrees to release, indemnify and hold harmless EFF & SAAC management from any and all claims that any advertising, presentation, web content or any other material subsequently produced, presented, and/or prepared by or on behalf of EFF & SAAC infringes on the rights of Entrant’s work as contained in any Entry. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY AND RELEASE: By participating in the Festival, Entrant agrees to release, indemnify and hold EFF & SAAC management harmless from any and all claims, damages or liabilities arising from or relating to such Entrant’s participation in the project.
