Rising Directors who are presenting their shorts,feature film and documentary films are recognized for their creative work and fresh ideas both on screen and off. Eligibility for the competition is based on films not being previously distributed in the U.S. or Internationally. The award is in honor of the legendary writer and actor Melvin Van Peebles.

Music is the driving force along side of film making OUFF will honor the music producer and composer for the best soundtrack and movie score.

In this category OUFF will honor and award the best Music Video director, producer and artist who shows the most creative potential through their craft.

Phenomenal Women In Film recognizes and celebrates the work of women from around the world and honors their creative works in the film industry. This year's award is presented in dedication to the legendary director Tracey Edmonds.

Selfie Short Film Fest
We're kicking off the 2015 Awards with a new category
"Selfie Short Film Award".

For talent looking to be in the film, TV and music industries, the "Selfie Short Fest" helps you show-off and promote your talent through high self esteem and intra personal communications.

Self Love and intrapersonal communication helps a person with both personal and professional. Self communication is one of the most powerful human interactions a person can have with themselves.

Get creative and brag about your talents from the inside out.

Orlando Urban Film Festival is now accepting short video submissions from aspiring directors, actors, actresses, music and video producers and those who are interested in movies, music and television production.

Talent can submit a three to five minute short film to the official OUFF website early as January 23, 2015.

The selected "Top Winner" will receive round-trip airfare and hotel to Orlando, Florida to meet directors, producers and filmmakers and receive an "OUFF You Are A,Star, Crystal Star Award."

Several press releases will be issued featuring the winners at the Red Carpet Awards presentation and winners will receive photography and edited video portfolio.

You can have a chance to be featured "on-the-big-screen" at the 2015 OUFF and your film shown at a movie theater.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Mission of the Orlando Urban Film Festival's (OUFF) "Urban Movie & Music Showcase" is to create an exciting new channel to expose a cultural mix of creative talent for movie and music producers. OUFF will bring together film makers and music producers to tell their sides of the story and breakdown movie making in a powerful way. Our goal is to educate creative individuals and show them how to be successful in the entertainment business. Also, bring the audience to the creators of Movies and Music to discuss the affects images and sound has our daily lives. It's important to understand how to make the product as well as why people will buy your product.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
2015 Orlando Urban Film Festival (OUFF) was a major success!

OUFF was created to help talent in the film and music business get distribution for their product and featured on the "Big Screen." OUFF puts the spotlight on bringing the two entertainment segments together as one (film-music), because they are joined in every aspect of movie making. Where there is movie production, there is music to enhance and highlight every scene in a phenomenal way within the soundtrack. Music is the driving force along side of film making. The Orlando Urban Film Festival will feature both old and new products to engage participants and audiences who enjoy viewing movies and listening to music.

OUFF was created by Marianne S. Eggleston (Ms. E) who has over twenty-five years experience in the music, film and entertainment business as an entrepreneur, executive, sales manager, public relations, marketing and communications strategist. She won a Telly Award for Assistant to Joseph Porrello, Director for PPI Entertainment's Fox TV Special "It's a Trollie Christmas". Eggleston has been featured in Black Enterprise Magazine, Jet Magazine, Billboard, Hollywood Reporter, Cash Box, BRE, Chicago Defender, Call and Post Newspaper and many other trade magazines. Her extensive knowledge and strategic business development skills has helped her build a very unique business concept for her film, music and Internet entertainment marketing, content development, publishing, and public relations, MQ Communications, MQ Public Relations, MQE Films and the Orlando Urban Film Festival. Eggleston's aspiration is to help young people as well as others who are interested in the creative fields of "Movies & Music" to be successful and achieve their career goals. Eggleston has always been recognized by the media as an executive on the move.

Previously serving as a manager with major Fortune 500 companies such as: Borders Books and Music, RCA, A&M and Arista and BMG Entertainment, PPI Entertainment, entrepreneurial clients and various Chambers of Commerce. Eggleston has consistently developed revenue driven solutions, sponsorships and partnership ventures for both employers and clients which includes sales, marketing, public relations and media campaigns.

Eggleston was the Director of Urban Music for PPI Entertainment, a major independent music and video label and distributor located in Newark, New Jersey. Earlier in her career Eggleston worked with BMG Entertainment, formerly known as RCA, A&M and Arista Distribution, for ten years as a North Central Regional Marketing Manager. She was responsible for market sales well over twenty-million dollars per-year. Eggleston succeeded these revenue objectives through creative radio, retail, clubs, concerts and media exposure for BMG and its associated labels artists as: Janet Jackson, Yanni, Whitney Houston, The Police, Bruce Hornsby, Alabama, Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, Diana Ross, David Bowie, Hall & Oates, Jefferson Starship, The Go-Go’s, The Whispers, Lakeside, Shalamar, Aretha Franklin, Jazzy Jeff-Will Smith, Eurhythmics, Rick Springfield, Dunn Pearson, Melvin Van Peebles and hundreds others.

OUFF wants to honor and recognize these power players side by side and educate upcoming talent on how to achieve "super success" with their crafts.

Submission Guidelines

Special Call For Entries - Selfie Short Film Fest - Get creative and brag about your talents from the inside out. Orlando Urban Film Festival is now accepting short video submissions from aspiring directors, actors, actresses, music and video producers and those who are interested in movies, music and television production. Talent can submit a three to five minute short film to the official OUFF website early as February 9, 2015.

1. Short Films entries not over 25 minutes that have previously screened publicly, nationally or broadcasted on US television prior to the Orlando Urban Film and Music Festival or are available for purchase on DVD, or are available for viewing online are not eligible.

2. Short Film Corner entries not over 25 minutes, must have been completed before June 1, 2009.

3. Films must be submitted on DVD ONLY. Do not send film prints, master tapes, or other originals. You are fully responsible for your films, music or material; we are not liable for your property.

4. Music entries must be original productions, tracks, scores, songs or lyrics. By law, music must not infringe on any copyrights.

5. Applicant confirms and warrants their legal authority to submit the film and/or music entry into the Orlando Urban Film and Music Festival.

6. Applicant deems they are fully responsible for the use of all music, images, graphics and content in the film or music entered in the Orlando Urban Film and Music Festival. By submitting your film or music into the Orlando Urban Film and Music Festival, you agree to take full responsibility and liability and for any and all damages associated with the showing of the film or broadcast of the music entered into the festival.

7. Entrant will allow usage of clips from the film or music for promotional use on the internet, television, radio, in print, and at live Orlando Urban Film and Music Festival events.

8. All entries must be either in English or contain English subtitles. Non-English entries submitted without subtitles are not eligible.

9. Only complete entries (including entry form, payment, and preview DVD screener or Music CD) will be processed.

10. Please submit a typed or clearly printed entry form or a copy of the online form receipt along with the submission. The Orlando Urban Film and Music Festival is not responsible for incorrect wording in publications or on awards.

11. Productions in the following exhibition formats are eligible for The Orlando Urban Film and Music Festival screening: Compact Disc, Digital, DCP, and Blu-ray Disc.

Deadlines

Early entry February 9, 2015 to Friday, May 8, 2015 and deadline for submissions Friday, August 14, 2015 winning filmmakers will be selected by the OUFMF Selection Committee. Late entries will be accepted until Friday, September 18, 2015 with the required late entry fee. All winners will be announced on September 28 , 2015. Winning films will be showcased in Orlando, Florida.

1. Shipping
The cost of shipping an entry to the Festival must be paid by the entrant. Collect or COD shipments will not be accepted.

All international entries must be sent “free domicile” to the Orlando Urban Film and Music Festival office with all transportation charges, duties, and taxes prepaid by the shipper. Fees charged to the
The Orlando Urban Film and Music Festival will be refused. For films accepted for screening at The Orlando Urban Film and Music Festival, we are not responsible for any shipping costs.

2. Judging & Selection
Short Films not over 25 minutes will be selected for judging and presentation by the Orlando Urban Film and Music Festival Judging Committee. The Orlando Urban Film and Music Festival Judges Committee Office will contact the selected winning entrants by telephone or email.

All winners will be notified on or before September 28, 2015. For publication purposes, entries selected will be required to supply 3 (three) high resolution stills from the film and at least 1 (one) photograph of the film's director. The Orlando Urban Film and Music Festival also request publicity materials and a video trailer (if available). Publicity and press materials will not be returned.

3. Entry Fees
Each entry must be accompanied by the appropriate entry fee. Entry fees are not Refundable. Fees cover registration, notification that your entry has been received, and notification of results. These fees may be paid by check or money order, made payable to Orlando Urban Film and Music Festival, or by Pay Pal using a credit card (VISA, MasterCard, or American Express).

For all entries outside the U.S., must pay using bank checks or money orders are accepted (NO PERSONAL CHECKS). The bank check or money order must be drawn on U.S. correspondent banks only and be in U.S. dollars. You can also pay by credit card using Pay Pal before Late Submission Deadline Friday, September 18, 2015.

Film Competition Awards

Films are programmed for public screening in a diverse selection of competitions and categories. Each film is presented in one or more of the following sections and is placed at the discretion of the programming committee. The competition is judged by the MQE Judging Committee who are film industry professionals, including directors, producers, actors, and critics.
