Sports must be a central component and could speak to stories about athletes, sports organizations, coaches, heroism, record-breaking achievements, inspirational stories, impact of sports on family life, social role of sports internationally, mainstream and non-mainstream sports from all over the world, scandals in sports, history and evolution of sport, sports in wartime, women in sports, gay athletes and prejudice, health concerns, ethical issues of animals in sports, etc.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE

The mission of the festival is to continue the rich tradition of film as a mechanism for entertaining, educating and engaging audiences about pertinent social issues by using the theme of sports, bringing together lovers of film and sports.

◾Provide the opportunity to showcase the work of up and coming and independent filmmakers.

◾Screen works from across the globe.

◾Provide an outlet for disadvantaged youth to provide opportunities to develop and screen short films using the art of filmmaking as means to harness their creativity to inspire and empower them.

◾Provide a truly interactive experience for the audience.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The ISFFE will be held on Saturday April 9, 2016
and Sunday April 17, 2016 in Toronto, Canada.

The Fan Experience take place on Saturday April 9, 2016 at the Alexandra Park Community Centre. Last year, our featured guest were former UFC superstar, Gary Goodridge; Mike Clemons, former Grey Cup Champion; Pachi, Pan Am Mascot; Ricky Johnson, former NWA tag team champion; and Papito Wilson, ParaPan Athlete

Films will potentially be screened at venues across the city. Confirmed thus far: Saturday April 9, 2016 at the Alexandra Park Community Centre and Sunday April 17, 2016 at the Art Gallery of Ontario's Jackman Hall theatre.The ISSF will include a Short Film Youth Showcase. This showcase is a partnership between Aaron Weiss and Alexandra Park Community Centre to exhibit short documentaries and films made by at-risk youth.

GENERAL RULES
Sports must be a central component and could speak to stories about athletes, sports organizations, coaches, heroism, record-breaking achievements, inspirational stories, impact of sports on family life, social role of sports internationally, mainstream and non-mainstream sports from all over the world, scandals in sports, history and evolution of sport, sports in wartime, women in sports, gay athletes and prejudice, health concerns, ethical issues of animals in sports, etc.

THE ISFFE has expanded. if your film is accepted, you must consent to a maximum of 10 screenings around the city.

We do not waive entry fees.

The ISFFE will not accept shipments that incur fees. Therefore, you must declare the value of your package at $1.00

LOCAL FILMMAKERS
Are obliged to promote and attend their screening.

AWARD
In order to be eligible for our awards, films exhibited at the International Sports Film Festival cannot be screened within the same city, at another event.

SPECS
Please submit DVDs and online screeners

DVDs must use Region 1/North America option

The festival will not accept DVDs that are burned as a data disk. DVDs must be labeled with the following:
-Title of the work
- Production Company
- Address of filmmaker
- Telephone Number
- Director’s Name
- Length (minutes)
- Tracking Number

Always test your DVD prior to sending it.

We do not return DVDs.


LIABILITY
The Festival will not assume responsibility for, nor will it accept, shipments incurring expenses for terminal charges, duties, taxes or customs brokerage.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The ISFFE is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. The submitter shall indemnify and hold harmless the ISFFE and its sponsors, partners and staff from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
