MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The International Film Festival North Hollywood (IFFNoHo) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that celebrates the art of filmmaking, helps support a community of artists and showcases North Hollywood as an entertainment and travel destination. Our goal is to collaborate with community partners to build social cohesiveness, philanthropy and volunteerism using film as the catalyst. IFFNoHo supports emerging filmmakers and their stories from around the world not currently found in mainstream cinema.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
IFFNoHo is designed to be a launch platform for new films, a nexus for discussion, and an expertly programmed showcase in all genres. The best films share a wonderful combination of substantive story-telling and creative use of the moving image and we invite all of you who are passionate about this collective form of expression to apply.
We will showcase your film for a Los Angeles audience and create exposure for your work in the world's most important movie market. We seek stories that define who we are and reflect your passion. Stories that engage us and films that entertain and inform, break boundaries, challenge conventions, in all genres, from first-timers to industry veterans. We look forward to showcasing your work May 3 - 6, 2017 at the NoHo Arts Center, North Hollywood, CA.
IFFNoHo supports the stories of emerging narrative and documentary filmmakers from around the world.
In our first year we screened 66 films from 15 countries. Filmmakers joined us in North Hollywood from Wales, China, Italy, France, Tahiti and from all over the United States. Our distinguished industry guests included Producer Michael Hausman (Gangs of New York, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Amadeus), Director Robert M. Young (Dominic & Eugene, Alambrista!), former WGA-West President, Producer, and Human Rights Watch Board Member Victoria Riskin, Los Angeles Times film critic Kenneth Turan, and others.
We are interested in all films in all genres, but like last year, we have a focus on dance, music, and food, reflecting the spirit of creativity in North Hollywood.
Also, this year we would like to see films about sex. Not porn, per se, but films that explore human sexuality in its variety of forms.
Submit early.
IFFNoHo is designed for the filmmaker experience. We want to give your film the attention it deserves and give you an opportunity for networking with four days and four nights of film screenings, industry guests, panel discussions and parties.
