MISSION & OBJECTIVE

The New York International Screenplay Awards aims to bring together producers and screenwriters, whether amateur or professional, from all over the world. Winners will have a chance to meet with producers in New York, as well as other rewards.



ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The New York International Screenplay Awards aims to bring together producers and screenwriters, whether amateur or professional, from all over the world. Winners will have a chance to meet with producers in New York, as well as other rewards.

Winners and Official Finalists of the 2019 New York International Screenplay Awards will be announced officially May 10th, 2019.
The Call for Entries for the 2019 New York International Screenplay Awards is currently open and accepting submissions.

NYISA Jury members are New Yorker producers, screenwriters, filmmakers who works on the submissions and provide detailed feedback.
In 2018, Each NYISA winner received an InkTip prize package to promote themselves and their scripts to InkTip’s entire network of producers, managers, and agents.
Each winner received an InkTip Script Listing and have their logline featured in InkTip Magazine. InkTip Magazine is sent to over 15,000 producers and representatives.
Additionally, each winner received, 1 year subscription to iPitch.tv, and each finalist had 3 months subscription to iPitch.tv.
iPITCH.TV offers a next generation platform for creators of original pitches for TV, Film & Digital Media to connect directly with Hollywood Producers and Studio Executives and gives creators industry pro advice on how to pitch a television show or feature film. Pitch your idea for a Movie, Screenplay, Television Show, Short Film, New Media Project and more.
Each winner also received a free screenwriting course from the Script Reader Pro (Retail price is $299)

GENERAL RULES

All scripts must be submitted in English, formatted in 12-point courier font.
Entry fees must be paid in U.S. dollars. Entry in the competition is void where prohibited by law.
Judges and employees who work for the NYISA are not eligible to enter the competition, nor are their affiliates or immediate family members.
Screenplays written by up to four people may be entered in the contest. Only one entry fee is required for such entries. All writers' names should be listed on the online entry. All writers must authorize submission of the entry. By submitting online to the NYISA, all writers authorize the submission. If a screenplay is written by multiple authors, all cash awards will be split equally between the writers, prizes will be divided at the writers' discretion.
All entries must be uploaded in PDF format. (www.freepdfconcert.com)
Entrants to the NYISA retain all rights to their screenplays.
Entries will not be returned. Be sure to retain a copy of all material submitted.
Entries must be received by the applicable Entry Deadline.
Once a script has been entered into competition, we will not accept substitutions or revised drafts. If you wish to submit a revised draft of your script, you must enter it as a new submission.
NYISA will not share your screenplay with anyone except the official judges of the competition.
By entering the NYISA, you represent that your entry is your original work, and does not infringe on the copyright or other rights of other people.
Entry fees are non-refundable.
We do not accept hardcopy submissions my mail.
Submissions must be the original work of the applicant. Entries may be adapted from the applicant’s own work.
The decisions of the judges are final.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS

NYISA reserves the right to make any necessary changes, postponements, or cancellations to event scheduling at our discretion.
Notification of winners and official finalists will be sent by email and posted on our website. It is the responsibility of the winners to redeem any prizes allotted to them by the NYISA or our sponsors. Applicants will be repsonsible for providing current contact information and mailing addresses for prize redemption purposes.
Feature screenplays must be between 70 and 130 pages in length. Absolutely no exceptions.
Short screenplays must be between 1 and 50 pages in length. Absolutely no exceptions.
There is no limit to the number of screenplays you may submit.
Under absolutely no circumstances will substitutions of either corrected pages or new drafts of the entry screenplay(s) be made. Screenplays will not be returned.
Scripts submitted to the competition must NOT have been previously optioned, purchased or produced at the time of entry. If a submitted screenplay becomes optioned, produced or purchased between the time of submission and the end of the judging period, that screenplay will no longer be eligible.
Screenplays submitted under a pen name will be immediately disqualified.
Screenplay titles cannot be changed upon resubmission under any circumstances.
To enter the NYISA, you must agree to its Terms and Conditions.

To protect your script, we strongly suggest you register your work with the Writers Guild of America, West (www.wga.org or call 323.782.4500) and the US Copyright Office (http://www.copyright.gov).
