MISSION & OBJECTIVE

About SF Veterans Film Festival

San Francisco Veterans Film Festival is a robust forum for Veterans to express their creativity and to share their stories, which in turn helps further healing and brings greater awareness to the public on the challenges our nation’s Veterans face. The festival spotlights both Veteran and civilian filmmakers addressing issues about Veterans and military-related topics.

SFVFF’s sponsor organization, OneVet OneVoice has a larger mission to assist the Bay Area Veterans community with a range of services. SFVFF is one of the critical programs supporting that mission.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

THE SAN FRANCISCO VETERANS FILM FESTIVAL

The San Francisco Veteran Film Festival (SFVFF) started as a small screening of the film "The Longoria Affair" at the SFVA Medical Center. We are now entering our seventh year. The seventh annual SFVFF was hosted by the SF Main Library in 2018. Check out 2018 selected films and more information at the link below:

Film entries will be chosen by a Selection Committee.

GENERAL RULES

Competition is open to U.S. and International entries. Send entries in sturdy or bubble wrap envelopes. You may submit any number of films to the festival however each film must be submitted with a separate entry.

FILM/VIDEO ENTRIES

Entries must be submitted on DVD for pre-screening (NTSC). Festival screening format will be provided at a later date.

LIABILITY

Although every possible care will be taken with films while in our possession, we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage. Do not send original prints. Notification of acceptance into the festival will be made by OCT 1, 2018. Please notify the festival of any address/phone changes. The festival reserves the right to pull any film from competition and screening for any reason whatsoever without incurring liability.

REPRODUCTION AGREEMENT

Submission of an entry gives the festival permission to have accepted work photographed, locally telecast, and reproduced, either in part or whole, for publicity purposes, unless otherwise requested in writing by the filmmaker.

To help the festival promote your film and to encourage attendance, please submit the following with your festival entry:

* Entry fee (credit card, or money order payable to San Francisco Veterans Film Festival).

* Digital still photos/jpeg images of film for program guide.

* Digital format trailer for film for posting on official festival website. Requested, but not required.

* Digital photo of filmmaker and bio of filmmaker

* Any promotional materials available for your film, for example reviews, quotes, press clippings, and such

* Copy of student ID (if applying as a student) or military ID (if applying as active duty military). ???


TERMS AND CONDITIONS

REPRODUCTION AGREEMENT

Submission of an entry gives the festival permission to have accepted work and/or publicity materials including trailers photographed, and/or reproduced, either in part or whole, for non-commercial, publicity purposes ONLY, unless otherwise requested in writing by the filmmaker.

RELEASE

San Francisco Veterans Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes.

The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.

The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless the San Francisco Veterans Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.

The undersigned also understand the San Francisco Veterans Film Festival reserves the right to remove any entry from consideration, programming, or online access for any reason at any time without recourse.
