|Since its creation in 1971, the Festival du nouveau cinéma of Montreal has continuously encouraged emerging practices in the field of image and sound.
Its new section, FNC eXPlore, is a space for decoding audiovisual mutations, which aims to trace the contours of tomorrow's cinema by exploring the most innovative forms of narration: interactive, immersive, virtual reality and 360° works, installations and performances...

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
A major event on the international cinema scene for 45 years now, the Festival du nouveau cinéma in Montreal (FNC) has proven its ability to continually adapt to the most avant-garde audiovisual practices in the field.
The FNC invites you to an event which, more than ever, gives the entire place to innovation. Our short and feature length programming, pushing back the limits of conventional film, will be complemented by the new FNC eXPlore section that offers a free access to many virtual reality works.
The major filmmakers, the Young Turks and the highly sought after artists of local and international cinema will all be gathered for 11 days of festivities, events and meeting that will prolong every night in our headquarters. The she-wolf is expecting you !
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
THE FLAGSHIP section of the festival, gutsy CINEMA that breaks new ground 18 features and 28 short films, presented in this high and strived to stand out section, that offer strong, sometimes disturbing and for sure moving, visions

- All selected entries must be in their original language and subtitled in French (preferably) or in English.
Each film entry must include:
- The completed online entry form;
- A secure web link WHICH REMAINS ACTIVE UNTIL THE END OF THE FESTIVAL, 15 OCTOBER.
- Payment of the entry fee.
• Premiere status
All selected works must be Montreal premieres. In other words, they should not be previously screened in Quebec, for the feature films, and in Montreal, for the short films and new media.
Short and medium-length films: under 59 minutes productions
Feature films: over 59 minutes productions
The Festival requires a registration fee on any submitted work.
2017 Registration Deadline: June 15th
The selection results will be announced via email as of mid September.
N.B. Submission packages will not be returned.
SHIPPING AND INSURANCE
Participants must pay the shipping, customs and insurance costs (including return costs) for their selected work. The FNC covers insurance costs only between the time of reception of the material and the time of its return to the participant. In the event of loss or damage during this specific period, the FNC is responsible for the replacement cost of the material only. On the pro-forma invoice, indicate only the replacement value of the tape or film stock to avoid problems clearing customs.
On the package, make sure to indicate:

N.B. The FNC organizers have final authority on all matters not specifically covered by these regulations.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
En soumettant votre œuvre, vous acceptez l'ensemble des règlements du Festival du nouveau cinéma et vous autorisez le Festival du nouveau cinéma à utiliser des extraits de votre film et/ou le matériel publicitaire de votre film pour des fins de promotion (kit de presse, affiches, photos).
En acceptant le règlement, la personne, physique ou morale, qui soumet le film confirme qu'elle détient les droits nécessaires pour le faire.
N.B. La direction du FNC se réserve les décisions finales sur toute autre question non prévue par le règlement.
By submitting your film, you accept all rules and regulations laid out by the Festival of nouveau cinéma and authorize the use of all publicity materials and excerpts from the submitted work for promotional purposes (press kit, posters, pictures).
The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby declares that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.
