The Liverpool Independent Film Festival is excited to announce its very own uncommissioned Screenplay competition. The winner of the award will receive expert consultation from both a leading executive producer of UK independent film and a commissioned screenwriter. The entitlement will help the worthy recipient to develop and package their project to industry standard. The consultation is exclusive to LIVIFF and will help gain pre sale distribution, Production interest and aid in attaching directing and casting talent alike for the chosen narrative. This is an amazing opportunity for any ambitious screen writer looking for that elusive breakthrough.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE

Liverpool Film Festival is a truly independent film festival, committed and dedicated to showcase the works of both new and established international and domestic filmmakers from the world of independent cinema. The organisation is proud of its honest and transparent roots and will continue with it's original ethos and promise of selecting films purely from open submissions.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The Liverpool Film Festival in partnership with Picturehouse at FACT.

‘The New York of Europe’ is ready to welcome the best filmmakers in the world to sail in and drop anchor at the most famous city port on the planet and showcase their new and exciting independent films at the festival’s second edition.

Home to the world’s most successful musicians, sports figures and artists, The Liverpool Film Festival will take place in and around its city centre cinemas over a three day weekend from the 12th to the 14th of October 2018.

Sister festival to the highly successful MANIFF and OXIFF, LIVIFF 2018 will find bold and inventive stories, to screen in a city of rich history and passion. With the ambition to match the city’s cool and artistic identity, LIVIFF is determined to make its international film festival one that will be regarded as a must be at event on the film festival circuit for many years to come.

The international filmmaking community all arrived in 2017 to enthusiastic and packed out premieres of films and guest appearances such as THE MINISTER starring Fortunato Cerlino (Gomorrah), German documentary hit YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE and U.S feature THE KEEPERS OF MAGIC featuring Vittorio Storaro (Apocalypse Now). In 2018 all will be invited once again to celebrate the official selection and indulge in world and UK premieres, after parties, filmmaker talks, and a closing awards that will reward excellence and originality by a high profile jury of film industry professionals.
With UK Distribution representation and national press attendance at a passionate festival for great lasting stories, the Liverpool Film Festival 2018 will be one to enjoy and remember.

Neil Jeram-Croft, Operations Director for LIVIFF says: “It was great to see the turn out from audiences for the inaugural festival and the feedback has been amazing. Liverpool is such a vibrant and cultural city and this festival is only going to grow. Hosting the festival at the Picturehouse FACT was a perfect fit for us and they really helped to promote the festival and look after the visiting filmmakers. We are already planning on how to make the festival bigger and better for 2018, watch this space!”
