MISSION & OBJECTIVE

FIN: Atlantic International Film Festival has blossomed into one of Canada’s premier celebrations of film and filmmaking, becoming an essential platform for films both local and global. Our festival brings the global cinema experience to Atlantic Canada and showcases our ever-expanding film and TV culture to the world, in order to inspire, enrich, enlighten and entertain audiences everywhere.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

FIN: Atlantic International Film Festival is an eight-day celebration that turns Halifax, Nova Scotia – a charming and historic coastal city – into an international Mecca for the arts, abuzz with film-goers, filmmakers, and industry professionals.

We attract some of the biggest players in film and media from around the globe while remaining a champion of fantastic local filmmakers. A not-for-profit charitable organization, the AIFF depends heavily upon its strong ties to the surrounding and thriving arts community. Our commitment to showcasing our homegrown talent alongside the best the world has to offer is the defining mission of the Atlantic International Film Festival.

Whether for industry folk, unabashed film lovers, or curious onlookers, the AIFF offers a slew of opportunities to engage with cinema and filmmaking. Today’s FIN: Atlantic International Film Festival is now a year-round celebration, growing beyond our eight-day cornerstone event in September to be considered one of the most important regional film organizations in Canada.
