MISSION & OBJECTIVE

The 16th annual Animation Block Party film festival is now open for submissions!

Animation Block is dedicated to exhibiting the world's best independent, professional and student animation. All genres and themes of animation are welcome.

The five animation award categories are: Best In Show, Original Design, Student Film, Animation For Kids and the Audience Award.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Animation Block Party is the largest animation festival on the East Coast. The festival has received press in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Gotham Magazine, Village Voice, Time Out, NY Daily News, NBC, CBS etc.

Indiewire says, "The coolest (and arguably one of the best) animation festivals in the United States is Brooklyn's Animation Block Party."

GENERAL RULES

Basic Rules of Submission:

ALL animation films must be in the time range of 30 seconds to 30 minutes. All genres are welcome, but animation only.

You may submit more than one film, but please submit a separate entry for each film you submit.

ABP Submission preference is HD 1920 x 1080 QuickTime in H.264 or Apple ProRes compression.

Please use https://www.wetransfer.com or https://www.hightail.com or https://www.sendspace.com or https://www.dropbox.com or another FTP type website to email a QuickTime of your film to:

animationblockparty@gmail.com

We no longer accept DVD submissions.

Digital QuickTime submission is required.

Please be sure to label your QuickTime file with the Withoutabox Tracking Number.

If submitting more than one short, you must fill out a separate entry form for that film and pay an additional submission fee.

Do not send us your only copy of your animation. Any materials you send us will not be returned.

You will receive a confirmation of your received media through the Withoutabox portal once it has been processed in our system.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By entering your animation for consideration, you attest that you hold all right to exhibit the given work. I have read, understand, and agree to all Animation Block Party entry guidelines and requirements. Animation Block Party is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes.

The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless Animation Block Party from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
