Animation historian, Howard Beckerman says "Animation is a compact medium; its strength is its conciseness. It's like a fruitcake, embracing many wonderful things in one tight space, and, like a fruitcake, it can be very nutty."

Animation Block Party 2017 is now open for submissions. This summer will mark the 14th annual Animation Block Party film festival in Brooklyn.

ABP is dedicated to exhibiting the world's best independent, professional and student animation. All genres and themes of animation are welcome.

Festival jury honors eight special award categories with fantastic prizes!

Animation Block Party is the largest animation festival on the East Coast. The festival has received press in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Gotham Magazine, Village Voice, Time Out, NY Daily News, NBC, CBS etc.

Indiewire says, "The coolest (and arguably one of the best) animation festivals in the United States is Brooklyn's Animation Block Party."
