MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Black Earth Film Festival was founded to expose the surrounding community to independent film and to provide a venue for independent film makers to showcase their work.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
From February 26 - 28 2015 the Black Earth Film Festival will feature films made by independent filmmakers. For the tenth annual Black Earth Film Festival will have a new season and new location to add to the energy of the festival. The festival is held in Galesburg, IL, a scenic community of 33,000 people with a strong tradition of supporting the arts, which is located between Davenport, IA and Peoria, IL.
Eligibility and Rules:
-The competition is open to any film or video completed after January 1, 2013.
-Categories include: Feature (Over 55 minutes), Short (under 55 minutes), Documentary, and Animation
-The festival will accept DVD and Mini DV formats for pre-view screening. Accepted films must be made available on DVD for festival presentation.
-Productions that are not in English must be subtitled or dubbed in English.
-Each entry must be submitted with completed entry form and entry fee.
-A press kit must accompany each entry, (Cast and Crew Lists, Bio Sheets & one (1) production still)
-All cash awards will be given to the primary applicant.
Recycled or scratched discs will be disqualified. Please send a new disc.
Acknowledgment of Receipt and Tape Return Policy:
When your entry is processed we shall notify you via e-mail. The festival will not be held responsible for loss or damage through post or handling. Unfortunately, due to high volume, all materials submitted cannot be returned.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
-Submission of an entry allows the festival permission to use clips of the work submitted (including stills) for promotion and publicity purposes.
-BEFF accepts no responsibility for breaches in copyright and the entrant releases BEFF for any and all claims and liabilities with respect to screening the entry before, during and after the festival.
-The entrant grants BEFF the rights to reproduce the work submitted for the purposes of promoting the festival.
-The entrant warrants that all rights of the submitted work are cleared for festival usage by the festival submission deadline.
