Narrative Feature
The Narrative Feature category accepts narrative fiction films between 50 minutes to 2 hours in length. Roxbury Film Festival features films made by or about people of color.
Narrative Short
The Narrative Short category accepts narrative fiction films between 1 minute to 50 minutes in length. Roxbury International Film Festival features films made by or about people of color.
Documentary Feature
The Documentary Feature category accepts non-fiction Documentary films between 50 minutes to 2 hours in length. Roxbury International Film Festival features films made by or about people of color.
Documentary Short
The Documentary Short category accepts non-fiction Documentary films between 5 to 50 minutes in length. Roxbury International Film Festival features films made by or about people of color.
Animation
The Animation category accepts animated films of any length. Roxbury International Film Festival features films made by or about people of color.
Youth Produced Film
The Youth Produced Film category accepts films written, directed and/or produced by a person under 18 years of age that are between 1 minute to 60 minutes in length. Films produced independently as well as those made in conjunction with a school or community program are eligible. Roxbury International Film Festival features films made by or about people of color.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Roxbury International Film Festival (RIFF)is dedicated to showcasing work by, for, or about people of color. Our mission is to support these films and filmmakers as well as to provide an opportunity for audiences to view these works and experience stories often overlooked in mainstream media.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Roxbury International Film Festival (RIFF) is the largest festival in New England dedicated to celebrating the work of filmmakers creating films celebrating peopld of color as well as film industry professionals of color.

RIFF showcases feature-length films, documentaries, shorts and animation. We are particularly committed to screening works by filmmakers with a connection to the New England area, however we also screen works by filmmakers from around the world as well.

The 4-day festival also includes workshops, panel discussions, networking opportunities, receptions, parties, and Q&A with filmmakers and special guests. Previous guests have included, Ruby Lee, Billy Dee Williams, Robert Townsend, Charles Burnett, Ernie Hudson, Daphne Maxwell-Reid, Michael Beach, CCH Pounder, Kasi Lemmons, Victoria Rowell, Hill Harper, Jamie Hector, Mel Jackson, and Miriam Colon, Russ Parr, Guy Torry, N'Bushe Wright, Susan Batson, Anthony Montgomery, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Michael Ealy, Chico Bennymon, Marla Gibbs Topper Carew, Quincy Newell and S. Epatha Merkerson.

RIFF is a competitive festival. Awards include "Audience Favorite," "Best Short Film," "Best of Festival," "Best Documentary," "Emerging Local Filmmaker," and "Youth Filmmaker."

16th Annual Roxbury International Film Festival will be held June 25th - 30th 2014. Films will be screened at the Boston's Museum of Fine Arts, Northeastern and Coolidge Corner Theater.

GENERAL RULES
All films made by or about people of color are eligible for submission. Some preference is given to past or current New England residents.

More than one entry may be submitted. Each entry must be accompanied by separate submission forms, fees, and materials.

If selected, the screening format of the film must be available by June 3rd, 2014 and for the duration of the festival.

The RIFF Planning Committee has complete discretion to determine the placement of films in the festival schedule.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Representations and Warranties. By submitting an Entry (film for submission), entrants represent and warrant to the Roxbury International Film Festival (RIFF) the following: A. Discharge/Payment of Obligations and Clearances for Film Festival. All of the following have been discharged or paid or will be discharged or paid by Entrant or persons other than the RIFF: 1. Copyright. All claims and rights of the copyright holders, if any, in literary, dramatic, musical, or other material, including stories, plays, scripts, scenarios, themes, incidents, plots, characters, dialogue, music, names, likeness, commercial or other products, or words appearing, used, or recorded in the Entry. 2. Contracts. All obligations of any kind, including, without limitation, those with artists and personnel, relating to purchases, licenses, laboratory contracts, distribution, exhibition, performance, or exploitation of the Entry. 3. Guild/Union/Performing Rights Society-Participation Payments. Any payments required to be made to any performing rights society or to any body or group representing authors, composers, musicians, artists, and other participants in the production of the Entry, publishers or other persons having legal or contractual rights of any kind to participate in the receipts of the Entry or to payments of any kind as a result of the distribution or exhibition of the Entry and any taxes thereon or on the payment thereof. B. No Pornographic or Illegal Material. The content of the Entry must not be obscene, pornographic, invade privacy rights, exploit the images of individuals under the age of eighteen (18), or in any other way violate applicable laws and regulations. C. Entrants agree that should the Entry be accepted into the festival, this waiver grants RFF the irrevocable right to screen the Entry in a public arena, as well as to promote said screening in press, marketing, and promotional materials as related to the 2013 festival. D. Indemnity. Entrants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the RIFF, their respective directors, parents, subsidiaries, employees, agents, assigns, affiliates, attorneys, staff, volunteers, publicist, exhibitors, corporate and other sponsors, and all other persons authorized to act on its behalf (hereinafter representatives), from and against any and all third party claims, damages, liabilities, demand or cause of action, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees and expenses, arising out of, related to, or in connection with any breach by the Entrant of this Agreement, including a breach of any Warranties and Representations made by the Entrant in this Agreement. In addition, entrant warrants that the rights granted to RIFF under this Waiver, including the public display, public performance, distribution, and reproduction of the Entry on the Internet, will not violate or infringe upon the copyright, literary, privacy, publicity, trademark, service mark, or any other personal or property right of any person or entity, and that the Entry will not constitute a libel or defamation of any third party. Furthermore, entrants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the RIFF and their representatives from and against any and all third party claims, damages, liabilities, demand or cause of action, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees and expenses, arising out of, related to, or in connection with RIFF's exhibition and promotion of said film, and the undersigned's participation in this event and film screening relevant thereto. Moreover, the entrant specifically agrees to waive, discharge, and hold harmless the Roxbury International Film Festival and its representatives in the event of any loss or damage to entry materials, including submission tapes and/or films provided for festival screening.
