Experimental films are an important part of the Artsfest Film Festival. Your film will be screened along with many other unique experimental films, from around the world. Our festival is very experimental friendly.
Animated films are an important part of the Artsfest Film Festival.
Each year, we feature several hours of animated films.
Handmade, digital, or other methods are all accepted.
Documentaries play an important role in the ArtsFest Film Festival.
Offbeat topics, different styles in the genre are accepted.
Leading documentary films and filmmakers highlight the festival each year.
Narrative films play an important role in the ArtsFest Film Festival.
Quirky and clever, from mumblecore to minimal, narrative films in many genres are screened.
Narrative films of all types are selected as a major component of the festival.
Central Pennsylvania Productions
Local Productions, those created and produced in the Central Pennsylvania area, are an important part of the ArtsFest Film Festival.
Local Productions will be featured in the festival's "Local Filmmaker Spotlight."
The festival features many opportunities for local and visiting filmmakers to network.

We look for underground, intense, quirky, comical, dramatic, documentary, independent, avant-garde, personal, experimental, or any other form of creative filmmaking that challenges the masses and the stereotypical 'Hollywood' aesthetic.
We also encourage and spotlight animation and pixelvision films and videos.
WE PROJECT 16mm and SUPER8 films at the festival, and prefer film prints over DVD's/Blu-Ray's when possible.

We show film and video creations made as a form of art, not as a means of making a profit at the expense of our culture.
