With animation/anime becoming an ever present part of daily life, through television, film, gaming and even commercials, the Fireside Foundation, Inc., celebrates the ever-expanding worlds of animation. In an era where games become movies and movies become games, it is fitting that the California International Animation Festival recognize the marriage between the arts of animation and gaming - a union that generates over $20 billion annually. In addition to bringing together international animators and filmmakers, CalAniFest provides a venue for gaming companies to release new products and technologies to eager audiences of testers, fans and gaming developers.

The California International Animation Festival is designed to present and promote animation of all types and all genres for audiences from very young through mature adults. We segment the screenings by age bracket so that each age group has its own time frame and there is no possibility of infringement on others. In addition, we recognize the importance of animation in the gaming industry, and offer a venue for game manufacturers to expose their product to the gaming community.

We are actively seeking submissions of television shows and television pilots for all age brackets, in addition to one shot animation programming, both short and feature length.

This festival is broadcast on the internet.
