Feature Films
U.S. & International narrative feature films of any genre that are over 50 minutes in length.
Documentary Films
U.S. or International documentary features over 50 minutes in length. (Documentaries under 50 minutes should be submitted in the Short Films category)
Short Films
U.S. and international short and Documentary films of any genre, form, or category as long as they are under 50 minutes in length.
Local Cinema (Nevada Films)
Films that meet at least one of the following categories:
(1) Filmed in the State of Nevada.
(2) Are about the history and culture of Nevada or Las Vegas.
(3) Key cast or crew (director, producer, screenwriter, lead actors) from Nevada.
Student Films
Short films written, directed or produced by student filmmakers.
Animation Films
Short and feature length animations, narrative and experimental of any genre.
Wildcards (Experimental films)
Experimental films including art installations, shorts and features. Non-narrative works of any runtime.
Screenplay Competition
Awards are given for the top three best screenplays in competition for feature length screenplays, over 75 pages in length. Official Finalists and Honorable Mentions are selected as well.
Music Video
A filmed rendition of a recorded song or musical composition of any form.


The Las Vegas Film Festival is a celebration of cultural discovery through the art of visual storytelling. A festival motivated by cinema culture, community and connecting industry professionals with independent filmmakers from all around the world. Our goal each year is to inspire festival attendees and offering a creative outlet to passionate independent storytellers in the energetic theaters in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada.


This is the 8th annual Las Vegas Film Festival, hosted in the revitalized East Fremont in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. Our official selection each year includes eccentric collection of features, shorts, documentaries, music video and experimental films. Awards and Jury
Each year the Las Vegas Film Festival appoints industry professionals as the official Jury to select the winners for each categories to celebrate achievements in outstanding filmmaking.

All Las Vegas Film Festival Screenplay Awards winners will receive an InkTip Script Listing: A listing of your script on InkTip so that producers and reps can find you.

Screenplay Competition awards go to 1st 2nd & 3rd sponsored by InkTip: Where everyone goes for scripts and writers. Producers have made more then 200 films from scripts and writers through InkTip. All Las Vegas Film Festival Screenplay Contest winners will receive: InkTip Script Listing: A listing of your script on InkTip so that producers and reps can find you. InkTip Magazine: Publication of your logline in InkTip's magazine sent to nearly 15,000 producers and reps can find you.

Screeners must be clearly labeled with title of film and contact information.

All foreign entries should be clearly marked on the package as "No Commercial Value - For Cultural Purposes Only"

Screeners will not be returned unless a prepaid envelope is provided with the submission.

More than one entry may be submitted. Each entry must be submitted separately.

Films produced in languages other than English must have legible English subtitles or be dubbed in English.

Entrants are responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses, royalties, release forms, clearances, permits necessary to present their work.

The selection committees' and juries' decisions are final.

Exceptions to the festival regulations must be authorized by one of the Festival Directors.
