MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Boston Cinema Census (BCC) is run and organized by Central Productions, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to support local independent filmmakers working outside the 'system.' Central Productions champions work that puts story, craft, and artistry above commercial success, and advances the emerging film community through community building, education, production support and fiscal sponsorship.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The 12th annual Boston Cinema Census is a one-day short film showcase for and by independent filmmakers located within New England, with a focus on the greater Boston Area. BCC accepts submissions of films from all genres, including, but not limited to: Shorts, Documentaries, Experimental, Animation and Music Video. Submissions are open from October to January, with the final selection of films to be announced in late March 2014. The 12th Annual BCC takes place on Thursday April 10th, 2014 at the historic Brattle Theater in Cambridge, MA.

The current call for submissions is open to film and video makers in New England. For more details please visit www.bostoncinemacensus.org or email bcc@centralproductions.org.

GENERAL RULES
Eligible films include: films shot partially or wholly in New England, films directed by a resident of New England or films made with key crew members who are New England residents. Any films made for corporate reasons, industrial films or Public Service Announcements will not be eligible.

Films are selected in accordance with Central Productions' (CP) Mission and Goals. CP strives to help produce and promote films that have difficulty being realized due to commercial pressures.

These films include all independent and experimental works; however, the decision is ultimately left to the discretion of the judging panel.

The Boston Cinema Census is a non-competitive film series and does not grant any awards or monetary compensation. If your film is selected, you will be contacted via email or phone by March 31st, 2014. Selected films will also be announced on the CP Boston Cinema Census websites. All films will be shown at the Brattle Theatre in Cambridge, MA on Thursday, April 10th, 2014.

Directors of all selected works are expected to attend the event and be part of a Q & A session with the audience.
