Mississippi
To qualify for the Mississippi category; the work must be either created by a resident of Mississippi, a student attending a Mississippi college or university, or the film must take place in Mississippi.

The Delta International Film and Video Festival is devoted to showcasing the work of independent film and video artists. We are looking for work that exhibits exceptional artistry, insight, and innovation in all categories and genres. We welcome submissions from established and emerging artists working in the United States and internationally. We also seek work made by students currently enrolled in college or university.

We at the DIFVF believe that film making is a profoundly unique phenomenon of cultural exploration and self-expression. We wish to promote and give visibility to the art of film making by celebrating and recognizing the work of outstanding filmmakers and video artists. We look forward to receiving your entry!


ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Delta International Film and Video Festival is excited to announce our 2014 festival call for entries. The 2014 Delta International Film and Video Festival unspools at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS from April 9th through April 11th at the Recital Hall in the Bologna Performing Arts Center. GENERAL RULES
ENTRY RULES AND REGULATIONS: 2014 DIFVF

The DIFVF is open to U.S. and International film and video artists.
All genres of film and video are eligible for the DIFVF.

Awards are given in select categories, including (but not limited to) Best Short, Best Experimental, Best Documentary, Best Documentary SHortBest Animation, and Best of Mississippi.

If your film or video is selected for exhibition at the Festival, you must have your work available for screening on DVD (NTSC only, Region 0 or 1).


Foreign language entries must be subtitled in English.

Entries must have been completed after January 1, 2009

You may submit multiple entries but must include a separate entry form and fee for each entry.

Only entries accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope will be returned. All other cassettes/DVDs will become part of the DIFVF archive.

Submissions must be postmarked by or on December 31, 2013 to be eligible for the $30 entry fee.

A copy of a current or university ID along with the appropriate entry fee must accompany all student entries.

All entries must be received by March 25, 2014. Entries not received by this time will be disqualified from consideration. Any fees paid are non-refundable.

Notification of acceptance to the Festival will be made as soon as possible after the jury takes place in April 2014.

If selected for the Festival, you will be asked to submit production stills, film/video synopsis, and brief filmography at that time.

Instructions for sending your DVD or tape to the festival will also be available at that time.

Exhibition tapes must be received by the Festival one week prior to exhibition.


Payment of entry fee can be made by check or money order in US funds, payable to Delta State University.

Students must include a current copy of their Student ID.

Inclusion of a self-addressed stamped postcard for notification of receipt of entry is encouraged but optional.

The DIFVF will take the utmost care with the handling of pre-screening tapes and exhibition film prints and tapes. However the DIFVF cannot be held responsible for the damage or loss of media.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

I have read and understand the accompanying 2013 DIFVF Entry Guidelines. If my entry is selected to be a part of The Delta International Film and Video Festival I will be able to provide the festival with an exhibition copy of my film or video on either miniDV (NTSC), or DVD (Region 0 or 1, NTSC) two weeks prior to the Festival. Upon notification of selection I will also be able to provide promotional materials such as filmmaker statement/philosophy and production stills for publicity purposes. I understand that the DIFVF will take the utmost care with the handling of my pre-screening tape and exhibition film print or tape. However the DIFVF cannot be held responsible for the damage or loss of films or tapes. By signing this, I agree that I have read the Entry Guidelines and fully understand them and agree to abide by their terms and conditions.
