Give us your best shorts (30 minutes or less) which are horror or science fiction themed. We are having a special Friday night showing at the local museum. The winner, selected by the audience, will receive a $250 first prize and trophy and will be shown on Saturday as well (maximum prize winnings of $500 for the two nights). MISSION & OBJECTIVE
Our goal is to promote the art of film.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Siouxland Institute of Film, Inc. and its creators have been working for 11 years to promote independent film in Siouxland, a tri-state area including parts of Iowa, South Dakota, and Nebraska. With over 100,000 people living in the immediate area and marketing to thousands more that live nearby, we work to bring in films throughout the year and host the Siouxland Film Festival. For the 11th year in a row, we will be bringing the Siouxland community together, this year EXPANDING to three days. All showings are in downtown Sioux City. Thursday will be a night showing International and Art House films at the Sioux City Arts Center, Friday a Horror/SciFI night at the Sioux City Museum, and Saturday two shows at the historic Orpheum Theater, a 2400 seat renovated performance hall. Submissions come from around the world and from "local" independent moviemakers. It is an entirely "shorts" program, with a 30 minute limit. Prizes will awarded each of the three nights.
