Bringing the best international short films to where there were none before...

Mudfest, aka 'The Mudgee International Short Film Festival'

It all started in 2004 when a few local film enthusiasts sat in the Butcher Shop Cafe lamenting over the fact that there were no short film festivals in New South Wales outside of Sydney. Determined to change that, Mudfest was born.

Known for its premium wine, the charming country town of Mudgee has always been a avid supporter of the arts. Now further complementing its wide range of cultural offerings is the region's first short film festival.

Now in its twelveth year Mudfest has become one of the most anticipated events in regional New South Wales, Australia. Each year films compete for thousands of dollars in cash and prizes with the help of sponsors such as Qantas, Fujifilm and Silvertrak. Also in 2016 we are planning to return to Hollywood yet again to screen some of our top films as part of G'DAY USA.
