Short Fiction
Short fiction includes all genres with a length of 30 minutes or less. All films must be either in English or have English subtitles.
Short Documentary
Short Documentary category includes all non-fiction films, including issue oriented, biographical, etc. All entries must be UNDER 30 minutes in length.
Music Videos
A filmed or videotaped rendition of a recorded song, often portraying musicians performing the song or including visual images interpreting the lyrics. Length maximum of 10 minutes.
Feature Films
Feature films are defined as any film over 30 minutes in length or longer, any genre.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The objective of the Northern California Film Festival is to provide a venue for makers of documentaries and short films of all genres.
We encourage new filmmakers from around the world.


ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Now in its 8th year as a "stand alone" Festival, the Northern California Film Festival invites film makers to a selective showcase of short documentaries and films. This is an internet film festival and will be broadcast on www.norcalfilmfest.net and the local CVMLTV.com websites. This gives the filmmaker a potential for a worldwide audience.

GENERAL RULES
1. All entries must be the original work of the filmmakers.
2. All categories, except music videos, may include proposed television pilots in any genre.
3. Documentary entries may include public domain or news footage of previous events to explain or exemplify their message.
4. In addition to the individual awards announced here, other awards may be added. All entries will be eligible for awards including the Directors' Choice Award, and other awards to be announced on the website at www.NorCalFilmFest.net.
