Imagination. Education. Celebration. The CineYouth Festival , presented by Cinema/Chicago and the Chicago International Film Festival celebrates the work of filmmakers 21 years old and younger, highlighting the creativity of the next generation.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
CineYouth 2014 is NOW ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS!

Now celebrating its 10th year, CineYouth, is a two-day Festival held May 8-10, 2014 in Chicago, featuring public screenings of officially selected work, hands-on workshops, and an exciting Opening Night presentation (guests TBA).

CineYouth concludes with an awards ceremony honoring the winning films from all genre categories. Award-winning films will be shown during the 50th Chicago International Film Festival (October 9-23, 2014) at the popular CineYouth "Best of the Fest" screening (date and time TBA).

CineYouth is FREE and open to the public. Filmmakers, educators, parents and film enthusiasts are invited to attend.

Approximately 100 films are accepted to CineYouth, and submissions are accepted from US and international filmmakers.

Submission deadlines:
CineYouth 2014 entries are accepted beginning December 2, 2013. Film submissions must be POSTMARKED by March 21, 2014 to be considered.

Eligibility:
-The film's director(s) must have been 21 years old or younger at time of filming
-All films must be in English or subtitled in English
-The length of all submissions must be 10 minutes or less, including credits
-Past submissions to CineYouth can not be resubmitted

Young visionaries let their voices be heard at Cinema/Chicago’s CineYouth Festival. Celebrating its tenth year May 8-10, 2014, the CineYouth festival showcases and celebrates filmmakers 21 years old and younger.

CineYouth brings filmmakers of all ages and from around the country together to share their work, learn together, and be inspired by each other.

Submission deadlines:

You may submit as many films as you like, but a completed entry form must accompany EACH entry and each submission must be on a separate DVD (no compilation discs).

If your film is selected to be part of CineYouth, you will be notified electronically on or before April 8, 2014. You will also be notified via email if your film is not selected.

Because of the high volume of submissions, we are unable to provide feedback on why your film was/was not selected.

If your film is accepted, you must provide an electronic film still that is a minimum 300dpi, 4x6 and high quality.

Submission Formats:

DVDs
Clearly label each entry with the film title and WAB tracking number. Your submission will not be returned, so please do not submit an original product.

.MOV files.
Please email cineyouth@chicagofilmfestival.com if you would like to submit your film as a .MOV file.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By entering your work into Cinema/Chicago's CineYouth Festival, you attest that you hold the rights to this work and that you give permission for it to screen at the 2014 CineYouth Festival and be used in any Cinema/Chicago promotional/programming materials.
