ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Established in 2007 under the Moving Image Film Festival. The Daring Indy Film Festival is devoted to showcasing the best of independent Canadian and international cinema to Film Enthusiasts all while highlighting up-and-coming talented filmmakers. DIFF provides opportunities for the general public to explore the exciting world of film via a 4-day showcase extravaganza. With the DIFF experience you get global coverage and exposure, as we cater to the international film market as well as hundreds of distributors and production companies worldwide who review our festival catalogue and magazine in search for new acquisition.
DIFF is proud to be part of the international film market having representatives networking with other film festivals and markets’ such as: TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival), Cannes Film Festival and Market, AFM (American Film Market), Sundance Film Festival, MIPTV, MIPCOM, Asia Film Art conventions and much more. Each year will feature a new theme, which will allow filmmakers to get their opportunity to create something from scratch specifically for the festival and it’s audience. Those partners and executives at DIFF are filmmakers themselves who spent many years exploring and experimenting with the world of film as they understand the benefits of having a their creation shared with their peers and a fervent audience.
DIFF provides screenings, media training, competitions’, Q & A discussions, and workshops throughout festivities to filmmakers and those interested in learning a bit about the advantages of creating a film, along with allowing the common man the probability of meeting filmmakers from Canada and around the world.
DIFFs goal is to alter the way audiences experience the world via the magic of cinematic expression. DIFF offers a great local and international forum for your film, with serious prizes and first class exposure. Get your submissions in today and take part in our festival family.
