MISSION & OBJECTIVE
FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival supports independent horror filmmakers from around the world to promote, connect, and inspire!
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The 13th Annual FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival is the largest horror genre film festival in the US. We feature the best in independent horror from around the world.
Celebrate and Support the Art of Independent Film! This international horror genre film festival is the brainchild of FEAR FILM Studios Owner Robert J. Massetti. As a veteran independent horror filmmaker, Robert wanted to make a film festival that celebrates the independent horror filmmaker by giving the artist a forum to show his or her work.
The festival is a showcase of some of the most talented, up and coming horror filmmakers in the world and tries hard to help filmmakers reach their goals with their films. This is a festival not to be missed for fun and exposure.
Filmmakers compete for the “FREAKY” Award for outstanding achievement in 9 different categories which include:
JURY AWARD, BEST FEATURE, BEST SHORT, BEST FLORIDA FEATURE, BEST FLORIDA SHORT, BEST ACTOR, BEST ACTRESS, BEST ANIMATION, BEST STUDENT SHORT and BEST SPECIAL FX MAKEUP.
Graven Ravenwolf (Marketing Director); Robert Massetti (Executive Director)
We are an International Horror Genre Film Festival. Movies submitted must have some sort of horror elements to be considered for our program. We also accept Sci-Fi films as long as they have horror elements as well. We accept documentaries, comedies, experimental, animation, dramas, etc. as long as they are in the horror genre. We do Not accept any Fan Films.
*Foreign language films MUST be dubbed or subtitled in English or the film will not be accepted.
Final Presentation format: DCP (Digital Cinema Package) for D-Cinema Projectors. Please make sure the DCP file is professionally made and theatrically tested. We prefer a DCP over Quicktime file as a DCP plays and looks better projected.
We also accept Quicktime HD Digital File H264 Mp4. (If accepted, we would need you to mail us a thumb drive with the file on it. We don't have the staff to download files from the internet).
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Entry does not guarantee placement in the program. However, each submission will be carefully considered. Festival judges will pre-select entries that will be featured as finalists at the festival. Finalists will then be judged by category and the winners will be announced during the awards presentation at the completion of the festival. All entries selected grant the Festival the right to use audio, video, and still images for promotional materials. The Festival will request artwork or promotional material for use on the website once the film is accepted to screen.
