MISSION & OBJECTIVE
To build, a strong program of film education, entertainment, presentation and development for Yukon residents along with KIAC (Klondike Institute of Art and Culture) in the context of Klondike Institute of Art and Culture's (KIAC)its other arts and media education streams, a strong program of film education, presentation and development for Yukon residents.

The festival presents short films (30 minutes or less) of all genres, Yukon made, Canadian and international. Specific areas of interest are films from other circumpolar regions ans first nations films.


ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Every Easter weekend, The Dawson City International Short Film Festival (DCISFF) opens its arms to a migration of film lovers and filmmakers for a four-day celebration of short film. Over the course of these four days, the festival presents films of all genres and from around the world as well as those made in the Yukon. Special events such as panel discussions, meet and greets, workshops, and awards continue to boost professional contacts and marketing opportunities for filmmakers, providing a unique networking environment.

GENERAL RULES
Guidelines
The Dawson City International Short Film Festival's (DCISFF) mandate is to promote, exhibit, and disseminate contemporary independent film and media works by regional, national and international emerging and professional artists.

Films of any genre are accepted. Music Videos or PSAs or industrial films are not eligible.

Requirements: All Films must be 30 minutes or less in length. Films completed after April 1, 2012 are eligible. Film must not have not been previously submitted to DCISFF.

Films in any language other than English must be subtitled in English.
All submissions must be accompanied by the following items:

1.a completed entry form,
2. a NTSC DVD (Region 1) for pre-screening AND a Quicktime file for projection. Note: Due to mail times to the North, it is recommended that you supply a projection copy with your application. Submisions also accepted via url link.
3. a short description of the film (50 words)
4. a 300 DPI jpg from the film (4” x 3”)
5. submission fee. (No fees for Yukon, Nunavut or Northwest Territories or Youth filmmakers)
6. submissions will not be returned unless accompanied by a self-addressed pre-paid return mailer

Incomplete entries will not be accepted.

Youth Deadline: February 1, 2014 (no fees)

Fees, shipping, and the usual disclaimer:
Entry fees are $15.00[CDN] for Canadian entries and $15.00 [CDN] for foreign entries. Late entry fee is $25.00. There are no entry fees for films from the Yukon, Northwest Territories or Nunavut. All insurance and shipping costs are the responsibility of the entrant. All international entries must have “For Cultural Purposes Only No Commercial Value" clearly written on the outside of the shipping package. Due care will be taken in the handling of submissions, but the festival does not accept responsibility for damage or loss of materials submitted.

YOU MAY SUBMIT PAYMENT BY CHECK OR MONEY ORDER:
Please send payment in CANADIAN DOLLARS to the address indicated for Submission shipments. Credit Card payment through Withoutabox is also accepted, and is the preferred payment method. Payment to be made to the Klondike Institute of Art and Culture.

Do not send your submissions in a fibre filled envelope, the dust can damage tapes, discs and viewing equipment. Do not submit DVDs with adhesive labels.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Permissions By submitting to the Dawson City International Short Film Festival (DCISFF), the filmmaker (or their representative) agrees that: 1. DCISFF is permitted to use the submitted works and any and all press materials of all selected entries for publicity and promotional purposes; 2. Contact info for filmmakers and/or distributors may be published in the festival program and website. 3. DCISFF is permitted to retain the submitted video for inclusion in our non-circulating library (archives); 4. DCISFF is not responsible for any damage or loss to materials submitted in any way; 5. The person signing the entry form must be legally authorized to enter this film in the 2014 Dawson City International Short Film Festival. Any copyrighted materials included in the work must have been legally cleared for use. Dawson City International Short Film Festival is a competitive festival. All entries are reviewed by a selection committee for possible inclusion in the festival.
