RIFF was Selected by MovieMaker Magazine - as one of the Top 25 Film Festivals worth the entry fee for 2013. To Qualify as a competitive film, Film must be more than 50 minutes in length and must have been completed after January 2012. Earlier Completion dates will not be considered. This category also accepts International and USA Fiction Feature Films.
Feature Documentary (50 min.+)
Selected by MovieMaker Magazine - as one of the Top 25 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee for 2013. For Competition Consideration - Feature Documentary Category must be over 50 minutes in length. This category accepts US and International submissions.
Short Film (49 min.-)
Selected by MovieMaker Magazine - as one of the Top 25 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee for 2013, Qualified Competitive Short Films are under 49 minutes. International Shorts and USA Shorts are accepted.

Submit documentary, experimental, and narrative shorts to this category. All animated shorts should be submitted to the Animation Film Category.

Surfing Film Category
Rincon, Puerto Rico is an internationally recognized SURFING community. We have special surfing themed film events, so we are looking for all types of SURF films. Selected by MovieMaker Magazine - as one of the Top 25 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee for 2013. Surfing films of any length will be qualified under this category. Language should be English or Spanish, and if not in English, then must have English Subtitles.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
Selected by MovieMaker Magazine - as one of the Top 25 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee for 2013, The mission of the Rincon International Film Festival is to support and promote culture and the arts in Puerto Rico through the medium of film. The festival seeks to inspire student, future and current filmmakers in the art of filmmaking, and to enhance the movie viewing experience in Puerto Rico through creative, unique and entertaining events.

Worth The Entry Fee for 2013, The Rincon International Film Festival Puerto Rico takes place in April in the beautiful vacation-land of Rincon, Puerto Rico. Festival events take place in and around the city, where patrons are able to see great films and also enjoy the beautiful nearby beaches.

Entries from outside Puerto Rico should be sent to the organizers in Atlanta, GA

GENERAL RULES
There will be thousands of dollars worth of prizes awarded to winners throughout the various categories. Prizes and Awards for all categories will be announced at end of festival and Audience Choice awards will be announced within 1 week following festival. See www.RinconFilm.com for details.

Entries must have been completed on or after January 2012. Features must be between 50 and 150 minutes in length. Shorts must be under 50 minutes in length.

Films may have been previously screened at other festivals. RIFFPR prefers at least Puerto Rico premiere status, but it is not mandatory.

Films with distribution may be screened, but may not be eligible for competition, depending on the Festival's discretion.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The Festival Organizers will require that all submitters agree to the following: The RIFFPR Directors reserve the right to include selected films in any category deemed appropriate. Not all films will be selected for screenings during the RIFFPR, but all submitted films will be considered. All submitters will be notified on or about early April of the status of their submission(s). The RIFFPR Directors reserve the right to program selected films as many times during the Festival as they see fit, at whatever venue they see fit. By submitting, the Film Director (Submitter) warrants that he or she is the rightful owner of the submission and does not violate or infringe on any trademark, trade name, copyright, literary, dramatic, musical, artistic or other intellectual property or personal rights. Submitter will indemnify and hold harmless the RIFFPR, its directors, judges, sponsors, partners, and affiliates individually and collectively, from and against all claims, demands, losses, damages, costs, liabilities and expenses including legal expenses arising out of or in connection with any and all claims, including third party claims, based on films/videos submitted to the festival. If a film is selected, the filmmaker agrees that he/she will be solely responsible for the delivery of his/her film to the RIFFPR Festival Office no later than March 3, 2014. All films will be marked with the name of the film and filmmaker. No filmmaker will be the object of discrimination based on their country of origin, language, age, race, education, ideology, or by their economic resources. All participants acknowledge that the RIFFPR is a public event that is open to the media. As such, all participants are subject to media coverage and scrutiny and may have their likenesses published in print, electronically, or via digital broadcast. RIFFPR is not, now nor will not be in the future, responsible nor liable for such media coverage or actions of the press or other publicity agents during any events or functions associated with RIFFPR. Once a submission has been made, and the submission fee has been paid, there are no refunds. Submissions will not be returned. RIFFPR reserves the right to use small portions of accepted films for publicity and promotion of the festival event.
