Narrative Short
A narrative film between 1 and 49 minutes in length.
Feature Film
A shocking feature 50-120 minutes in length.
Original Script
Any shocking script up to 120 pages in proper screenplay format.
Documentary Short
Documentary short films of between 1 and 50 minutes.
Music Video
A film in which the visual element plays a supporting and enhancing role to the audio element.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The 9th Annual Shockfest Film Festival of Hollywood is devoted to giving a platform to shocking and horror narratives, documentaries, experimental pieces and music videos that are different from the mainstream, films that move audiences (even if it means shaking them up).

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Shockfest is now accepting features and scripts!

Los Angeles is a town that has seen it all. Hollywood has seen more than that. To get recognition in the film capital of the world you need to do more than be different. You need to be SHOCKING! Get attention, push boundaries, cause a controversy, disturb someone, wake the audience up. No matter how you say it, if your film does it Shockfest Film Festival wants to display your masterpiece of mental mayhem in Hollywood.

Shockfest is seeking short documentaries, narratives, and music videos that are fresh, new, and different from everything else. The festival will be kicking off its sixth year in 2012. Surrounded by all the excitement of Hollywood, it will truly be an event to remember!

GENERAL RULES
1> Entries must be sent via Secure Online Screener, on DVD or on 1/2 VHS tape (NTSC) OR DVD.
2> Films can be tied to a DOMESTIC DISTRIBUTION DEAL.
3> Participants agree that their film or clips from it and all other material related to their project may be used and/or published in the event program, Shockfest web site and for any promotional purposes which Shockfest deems appropriate.
4> No viewing tapes and/or promotional materials will be returned to the filmmaker.
5> If selected, all commercial/private property including all trademark/copyrighted materials shown or recorded on the project is the responsibility of the filmmaker. Shockfest will NOT take responsibility for any infringement of copy written materials.
6> The cost of delivery and pick-up of all materials is the responsibility of the filmmaker.
7> Shockfest holds no responsibility for lost or damaged prints. While the utmost care will be taken with regard to prints, it is solely up to the filmmaker to take full responsibility (i.e. insurance). The Shockfest, its officers, directors, volunteers and sponsors are held harmless by filmmaker for all claims financial or otherwise and from any damage to the print in route or otherwise during the course of the Festival's possession of the film; Films submitted may not be subject to any litigation nor threatened by any litigation.
8> By submitting an entry, filmmaker states that he or she is responsible as an agent to promote the film and that the film is an original work.
