MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Future of Cinema Festival at Interlochen Center for the Arts provides a setting for high school filmmakers to meet professionals and peers, screen work, discuss trends and new developments in cinema, while creating a greater understanding of a quickly evolving art form. FOCFF guests invest time with young filmmakers, in master classes, peer critiques and screenings.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Interlochen Center for the Arts engages and inspires people worldwide through excellence in educational, artistic and cultural programs, enhancing the quality of life through the universal language of the arts. The Future of Cinema Festival is a continuation of the center's 80 year legacy as leader in the arts.
The Future of Cinema Festival is for the high school film maker seeking a global community of other passionate, driven high school students in cinema; we are a dedicated showcase of new filmmakers' talent. The sixth annual Future of Cinema Fest 2013 will screen the best national and international work of high school students.

President of ILM; James Gartner, Director of Glory Road; Ken Burns, documentary filmmaker; Andy Davis, Director of The Fugitive and Holes; Joel McNeely, Composer for Young Indiana Jones Chronicles; Ivan Raimi, Screenwriter - Darkman, Army of Darkness, Spiderman 3; Jeff Daniels, performer; Andrea Nix Fine, Co-Director of WarDance; Logan and Noah Miller directors of Touching Home starring Ed Harris; Adrian Belic, Oscar Nominate Director of Ghengis Blues and Beyond the Call; Dennis Muren, Visual Effects Supervisor at ILM with work spanning Star Wars to Super 8; Cory McAbee, Writer and Director of The American Astronaut and Stingray Sam; Michael Moore, Academy Award winning filmmaker and Director of Fahrenheit 911; and Daniel Pearl, cinematographer.

1. Future of Cinema is open to enrolled high school students ages 13-18.
2. Each submission should be a finished production.
3. Each film or screenplay must have its own submission, entry fee, 50 word or less synopsis (preferred through Withoutabox online Project Details), and DVD or file copy, along with photocopy of valid student ID
4. All directors must have full rights to project materials and recordings submitted.
5. All work must have been completed after January 1, 2011.
Future of Cinema DOES NOT accept:
1. Trailers, music videos, unfinished work or work in progress, industrial/medical/instructional films.
2. Work from high school graduates.
All video/film submissions may be sent on DVD and/or Video links. Links to video websites will be accepted, but note that DVDs will need to be submitted for all entries selected as Finalists a week before screening.
Screenplay submissions must be sent in hard copy or electronically in PDF format through Withoutabox.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
I/We have read all of the Future of Cinema Film Festival (a.k.a. Festival) rules. I/We understand and have complied with these rules.
I/We warrant the submission of my/our original work and there are no disputes regarding the ownership of the submission. I/We also warrant the submitted material does not defame or invade the rights of any person living or dead and I/we fully indemnify the Festival against any claim made for such violations of law. To the best of my/our knowledge, all of the statements herein are true and correct.
I/We understand that failure to adhere to the Festival rules will result in disqualification and forfeiture of entry fee.
I/We agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Future of Cinema Film Festival, ICA, its trustees, officers, employees, agents and representatives from and defend them against all claims, demands, losses, damages, judgments, liabilities, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising out of or in connection with any and all claims of third parties, whether or not groundless, based on any film submitted to the Festival.
