MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Indie Fest is about helping independent filmmakers gain credibility and publicity. The primary goal of traditional film festivals is to bring entertainment to local audiences which makes filmmakers of secondary importance. The Indie Fest is not a traditional film festival, it is an international awards competition. Serving filmmakers is our first and only goal.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Indie Fest is a showcase for cinematic gems and unique voices. It is a user-friendly competition. Indie awards go to those filmmakers, actors, producers and members of the creative team who create fresh, standout films, television programs, compelling documentaries and new media.
The Indie is a top-tier, international awards competition. Entries come from all over the world including Argentina, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malta, Martinique, México, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States.
The Indie Fest’s has seasonal deadlines/judging and grants awards as appropriate within four to six weeks after each deadline. Winners are also promoted via targeted press releases to media outlets, and to the Indie's email database of more than 60,000 filmmakers and industry insiders.
(The Indie Fest’s sister competitions are the Accolade Competition, www.theaccolade.net; Best Shorts, www.bestshorts.net; and Global Music Awards, www.thegma.net. All four competitions have independent judging and judging results from one competition will not influence the outcome of the other.)
Eworldwire.com is an official sponsor of the Indie Fest. If you issue press releases about your films we hope you will consider using this friend of independent filmmakers.
Thomas Baker, Ph.D. (Festival Coordinator)
Like most award competitions the first level of judging is conducted in-house. Staff is selective. All the entries recommended for Award of Merit and Award of Excellence are carefully screened by the Competition Chairperson. Entries judged to be potential Best of Show winners may be sent to outside judges for additional review. The Chairpersons role is to assure consistency across judging and maintain high standards.
