Compelling, thought-provoking work from around the world with a universal theme, able to entertain and enlighten, transporting and inspiring audiences.
MISSION & OBJECTIVE
Cinémonde is a smart, elegant private film series with screenings of American and international films throughout the year (approximately 6 to 9 events over every 12-month period) followed by a discussion with the films’ creative teams, along with a gourmet reception for guests and filmmakers.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Cinémonde was created to furnish a cordial, private salon-type event to see thought-provoking work from around the world, offering participants the opportunity to interact with the filmmakers and each other while savoring wonderful foods and beverages. The underlying theme is to bring people together with universal stories and warm hospitality. The pleasure of seeing good films is embellished with good talk, food, drink and company. Our target audience is film/TV/media professionals in the New York area.
The programmer and host of Cinémonde is Jerry Rudes, who is also Founder and Director of both the 25-year-old Avignon Film Festival (France) and the 13-year-old Avignon/New York Film Festival (USA).
The screening format of Cinémonde is cutting-edge video projection with a high-caliber sound system for excellent big-screen viewing. A DigiBeta or HD master tape is required from each participating filmmaker.
Each Cinémonde soiree will offer a compelling program made up of a short film and feature film not yet widely screened in the United States.
Filmmakers and actors who are available from each production will introduce and discuss their work.
The audience for Cinémonde is limited, guest must be invited (thus underscoring the private nature of the series) with a high percentage of industry professionals attending. The dress code for Cinémonde is casual evening/chic. Seating is limited and guests must reserve their places beforehand on a first-come, first-serve basis. We will close reservations when the venue is filled.
Jerry Rudes (Founder)
Cinémonde is a private series, therefore we try to be selective, both in terms of the films invited to screen throughout the year and the audiences who are invited to participate. Filmmakers and creative teams will be invited as our guests along with their film(s) because an essential facet of Cinémonde is the interaction between audience and directors, producers, cinematographers and actors who have created the film we are screening. Cinemonde soirees are mostly about the filmmakers' work but also about networking, socializing and having fun.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
