The Short Film category is any film that runs under 40 minutes in length. There is no genre applied to the category. Filmmakers are encouraged to submit any short film that exhibits excellent story, direction, acting, editing, and composition, and films will be judged on all these components.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Anaheim Film Festival & Media Arts Expo (AFFMAX) is a festival of discovery and innovation with the primary mission of creating and providing an environment to inspire, nurture, promote and showcase the work of emerging independent film talent and pay tribute to accomplished film artists in front of and behind the camera in the international, national, regional and local film community.

AFFMAX aims to create a world-class festival as an integral part of the cultural fabric of the City of Anaheim.

AFFMAX aims to be one of the most important events in Orange County’s cultural calendar and an important stop on the international festival circuit.

The Anaheim Film Festival & Media Arts Expo

For five spectacular days and nights in October, AFFMAX will showcase the latest in narrative feature films, documentaries, live action and animated shorts from all across America and around the globe, as well as debut its Media Arts Expo which will include a diverse and stimulating lineup of film industry panels, workshops, new media and digital arts exhibits, a film market, tributes, retrospectives and star studded gala events.

The Festival will be from Wednesday, October 24, 2012 through Sunday, October 28, 2012.

The Anaheim Film Festival (AFF) is a competitive Festival. Winners are determined by a Film Jury and by Audience Choice. The festival is open to US and Foreign films in four categories: Narrative Features, Short Films, Documentaries and Animation. You may enter your film through Withoutabox.com or the Festival website, www.AnaheimFilmArts.org

To be eligible for submission, a film entry must have been completed in 2010 or later. (This does not apply to invited films for special curated sections). For the review process, all film entries must be submitted on DVD (Region 0 or Region 1 and NO PAL formats, only NTSC). DVD’s should be clearly labeled with film title, running time and contact info. Please test DVD on several players to make sure it is playable. DVD screeners will not be returned.

Non-English language films must have English subtitles or be dubbed in English.

Entries must be submitted with the processing fee. Fees are non-refundable. You may submit more than one entry. However, a separate entry form, preview copy and entry fee are required for each title.

Payment is accepted only in U.S. dollars, by check (payable to Anaheim Film Festival), money order, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Do not send cash.

Entries MUST include a synopsis, complete cast/crew list, complete production and technical details

Acceptance notices will be sent via e-mail or fax, on or before Sept. 1, 2012. Due to the large number of film entries we cannot provide feedback or additional correspondence to films that are not selected.

If selected, a 35mm print, Digibeta, DCP, BetaSp or Blu Ray must be in AFF office, Oct. 15, 2012, clearly labeled with return shipping information or current contact address, email and/or telephone number.

Film prints and other film materials will be handled with utmost care, but neither AFF organizers nor supporting organizations can assume responsibility for damage or loss of the print and other film materials while en route or otherwise during the course of the Festival’s possession of the film.

Film producers / distributors are responsible for shipment of films to AFF. AFF will pay for one – way return shipment of films. Please note AFF will not pay for international freight of US films.

It is important for a selected film to have a presence at the festival. AFF encourages all selected films to have at least one member of the film’s production staff / and or cast present.

The act of submitting this form constitutes acceptance without reservation of all rules of AFF.
