FEATURE LENGTH - Media over 30 minutes
You can submit any subject or genre, any format including but not limited to 35mm, 16mm, 8mm, 2D, HD, 5D, 7D, SI Canon, Alexa, etc, and duration as long as its a minimum of 30 minutes.If less than 30 Minutes please submit in Shorts. Please note, we also have a Documentary (Film) and Animation (Film) category.
MOBILE/TABLET - media content created with your cell phone
MOBILE/TABLET - Media content created with your cell phone. All lengths and genres accepted.
SHORTS - Media under 30 minutes
Any content 30 minutes or under.
WEB SERIES - online media multiple (series of 3 or more)
A series of scripted or non-scripted videos, generally in episodic form.
Any length pilot in documentary or narrative form for any genre. There is no running time constraint.
3D - 5D - Artificial Intelligence - Augmented Reality
3D - Augmented Reality - Artificial Intelligence and 5D projects, submit in this category. For 360, please submit under Virtual Reality, thanks.

Non Fiction.
Including but not limited to Stop Motion, Claymation, Classic, etc.
Apps can be created for the iPhone, iPad, Evo, Nokia's Ovi Store, Blackberry's App World, Palm's App Catalog, Google's Android Market, Microsoft Windows Marketplace and all other platforms for Mobile or tablets.
This is for any type of film & media content that has a socially responsible message and would like to be considered for competition in this category. Including but not limited to PSA's, industrials, journalism. We have had stories as diverse as the Last Dinners of Death Row Inmates to Bumblebees.
Music Video
All Music Videos welcome.

In the very first year of New Media Film Festival a music video won our Shot On Red category. We wanted Music Videos shot on any format to have an opportunity to win, on its own, among their peers, so, this category was created.
Digital Comics
Digital Comics are accepted in digital format only (no physical books please). Winner of this category will be judged by a Marvel Graphic Novel published writer, viewed by an award winning production company for consideration (if interested) to be made into an animation or live action feature.
Minimum length should be at least 30 seconds and no more than four minutes in length.You may submit your trailer here and your long format in one of our other categories if you wish. Different judges.
New Media Scripts
All Scripts. Top 3 each receive an Ink Tip Listing. iPitch, Sell a Script, ISA and The Hatchery, over $1000.00 value in memberships, as well as being considered for Grand Prize Award.

Whether it is short of long form, animation, comedy, sitcom, drama, books, web series, reality, live, TV anything scripted, this is for you. There is not a limit on page numbers. Did you enter one of your films into one of our categories? You can also submit the script here for consideration.
New Media
Since New Media is an ever evolving arena, we have this category for those of you that have created something that you feel does not fit into our other categories listed. Possibly 5d, 7d, SI, Interactive, augmented, Gaming or ______.
Sniplers-the 30 second pitch
Sniplers - a 30 second pitch. Think of it as a snippet of a trailer. A content creator that was accepted into this category, brought his potential backers to the screening and his feature length version was funded by them!
S.T.E.A.M.Science, Tech, Engineering, Art, Math
You may submit any genre, any length for this category. The subject matter must at some point touch on or involve one of these elements: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and/or Math.
All Genres are welcome. All drone content accepted. There is no running time limit for this category.
Virtual Reality and 360
Any and all footage that uses and/or encompasses Virtual Reality technology and 360 is accepted.
We are set up to show VR projects on Rift (preferred) Vive and/or GearVR
Content that was made while you were a student, submit in this category. The top 3 student films in this category each win $100 cash as well as still be in consideration for the Grand Prize Awards.

The New Media Film Festival team works hard to produce a cutting-edge, fair, upscale festival devoted to upcoming and seasoned content creators that highlights and honors globally in the New Media industry.

We are also one of the most unique festivals that also works hard to find distribution and other opportunities for almost all our official selections - not just the winners. Content creators who submit, whether officially selected or not, have opportunities outside of the normal festival process. Everything from distribution, connections to other festivals, conferences, press opportunities and more.

- We accept projects that were completed at any time. We do not have a cut off date to when this project was completed.

- We accept projects whether or not you have distribution. We also have no festival exclusivity clauses - and you have FULL CREATIVE RIGHTS for your content.

- Your project is not only limited to one category. Make sure to check out all our categories and submit to the ones that fit your content. You must pay a new submission fee per each category.

- We accept content that has already been published online or made public

- We accept any format (see below for more details)

- Each submission is considered for screening, competition ($45,000 in awards) Best in Category and/or distribution - even if you are not a grand prize winner.

- Judges from HBO, Marvel, Grammys, ATAS (Emmys), 3DIS and other Industry Leaders.

FYI -We update WAB in sections, so you may not see your submission updated for up to a month at a time. Please be patient and check back within a month of submitting. We contact you directly to let you know if you are accepted or not into the festival by the deadline. Thanks.

New Media Film Festival prefers submissions via Secure Online Screener or other digital formats. We do accept links to view online. If absolutely necessary, you may instead select to send us a DVD or Blu-ray of your submission.

Entrants are responsible for transportation costs, insurance charges and any customs fees incurred when shipping to the festival. New Media Film Festival is not responsible for tapes damaged or lost in transit. Works submitted for jury selection will not be returned after the close of the festival. No media/film accepted for programming can be pulled from the festival.

New Media Film Festival does not check to make sure that you have cleared these materials at any point during the application process, nor will we be held responsible for any inclusion of uncleared materials in your film. It is the sole responsibility of the entity submitting the project to secure permission from the copyright holder of the material in question, whether it is music, stock footage, or any other elements that could violate an existing copyright. Quite often, rights holders offer reduced rates for festival films, so you should contact them directly to avoid any possible rights infringements.

Please note, there is a deliverables deadline for each venue. If you do not meet that deadline it is possible we will not be able to screen your content. Deliverables are the responsibility of the person submitting.
