MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Boston LGBT Film Festival is the longest running and largest LGBT media event in New England. Founded in 1984 by film programmer George Mansour, the festival has been hosted by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston for the past 18 years. In 2009 the festival expanded to include screenings at the Brattle Theatre in iconic Harvard Square, Cambridge, and the brand new Fenway Health Center on Boylston Street in Boston. Last year we screened over 100 films from 27 countries.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Boston LGBT Film Festival is the largest festival of films by, for, and about the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community and their allies in New England. In 2011 the festival screened 120 films from 27 countries with over 4500 tickets sold. The Boston LGBT Film Festival is also one of the longest running film festivals in North America. Founded by film curator George Mansour in 1984, next year will be our 28th year in existence.

The annual Festival showcases international, US, and local film, video, and other media, with a focus on media that demonstrates the diversity and depth of our audience. The 30th Annual Boston LGBT Film Festival will be running from April 3rd to April 12th, 2014. We are very honored to be partnering with the Institute of Contemporary Art for our opening night celebration on Thursday, April 3rd. We will be announcing our opening night film in Spring 2014.

As New England’s premiere LGBT film organization, the Festival reaches out to the culturally rich and diverse communities of the region through Screenings on Tour and Festival Partnerships, in collaboration with other film festivals.

The Boston LGBT Film Festival aims to stimulate thought and encourage dialogue while offering exposure and continued presence for filmmakers, artists and community organizations.
