MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Rimini Meeting Film Festival honors works that reflect the human quest for meaning; which naturally expresses itself in the desire for: truth, justice, goodness and beauty. This is what makes film an art and not simply a business: it reflects the artists desire to understand better his specific circumstances, while also holding a mirror up to the society at large.

The competition, open to filmmakers of all ages, wants to emphasize works that discuss and deepen with authenticity the theme of man’s commitment with reality by revealing its serious, ironic, dramatic, passionate, and mysterious aspects. In order to share the human and professional journey of search, discovery, and judgment the Festival offers its participants an opportunity to encounter well-known masters in the field.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The International Meeting Rimini Film Festival is set within the The Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples, the largest international cultural event of its kind, The Film Festival is unlike any other in the world.

For each edition thousands of volunteers go to Rimini from Italy and from all over the world; they pay for their own trip and lodging, and organize, stage, manage, and dismantle the Meeting. A living witness of how gratuitousness is a possible and testable value; the beauty of people that freely offer their work in order to live the experience of truth and to give witness to it.

The Meeting of Rimini is a place where it is possible to value each other, where the other’s differences are a positive provocation, a help to discover the truth that corresponds to the human needs. For this reason every year Jews, Buddhists, atheists, Orthodox, and Muslims attend it.

Each year, starting from a particular title, we speak about economy, art, literature, science, politics, social affairs, and different kinds of music. A unique curiosity and openness.

Every edition counted 800,000 visitors from 20 nations, 4,000 volunteers, 130 conferences, 250 speakers, 8 exhibitions, 35 shows, 10 sporting events, 170,000 sq. m of staged spaces, 1,000 accredited journalists, more than 200 partners and sponsors.

The Meeting of Rimini Film Festival was born out of this desire to see how filmmakers around the world answer to these fundamental human questions.

Now in its 7th edition, the Festival is continuing it's collaboration with School of Visual Arts in New York City, ACT Multimedia Cinema School - Cinecitta' (Rome) as well as an international jury composed of directors, producers and actors selecting outstanding work that most represents the spirit and beauty of the art of filmmaking.
