MISSION & OBJECTIVE

The BoneBat Film Fest is a cinematic comedy and horror extravaganza, hosted by the creators of the BoneBat Show podcast. We aim to deliver a spectacular evening of film, live music, giggles and gore, with a focus on celebrating the incredible work of independent filmmakers, musicians, and artists.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

THE BONEBAT SHOW PODCAST ANNOUNCES OPEN SUBMISSIONS FOR THE 2018 BONEBAT “COMEDY OF HORRORS” FILM FEST

Redmond, WA, October 1, 2017 – The BONEBAT “COMEDY OF HORRORS” FILM FEST returns once more, in search of the finest in independent Comedy, Horror, and Horror-Comedy cinema to headline its EIGHTH full evening of features, shorts and live music!

The BoneBat “Comedy of Horrors” Film Fest is calling for: - Feature Films - Shorts - Animation For a one-time festival screening in Seattle.
Open submissions begin on October 1st, 2017. Submission fee is $13.00 US.

Support of independent filmmakers and artists continues to be one of the top priorities of the BoneBat “Comedy of Horrors” Film Fest. While will be charging submission fees for our 8th installment, we strive to continue that support by keeping our fees low, and offering the following waivers:

1) Grandfather Clause! If you had a film screen at a previous BoneBat “Comedy of Horrors” Film Fest, we love you. Please email steve@bonehand.com for a waiver code for our 2018 film festival.

2) The Panhandler Clause! If we solicit you directly to enter your film, the fee is on us. Please email steve@bonehand.com for a waiver code.

3) The Northwest Clause! If at least 50% of your film was shot in the Pacific Northwest, you get a hometown discount! No fee for you. Please email steve@bonehand.com for a waiver code.

The Bonebat "Comedy of Horrors" Film Fest strongly encourages film submissions from women, people of color, LGBTQ, and differently-abled people.

Additionally, we are also running a Kickstarter campaign. Any support you can provide, or help in spreading the word about our fundraising efforts is greatly appreciated.

Digital Screeners will be accepted for initial submission, and can submitted via digital platform, or emailed with a copy of the attached completed paperwork to steve@bonehand.com. If accepted, an HD copy, in either disc or digital form, will be required for the final screening. DVD/Blu-ray copies must be postmarked no later than the deadline date to be considered. The festival will once again be hosted by cartoonist/humorist Gord Caulkins and Steve Holetz of The BoneBat Show podcast, and pending funding, will take place on April 14th, 2018 at SIFF Uptown Cinema in Seattle, WA.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

OWNERSHIP
Submission to The BoneBat Film Festival (BBFF) in no way implies ANY ownership rights by BBFF to the submitted film, all such rights are reserved by the filmmaker. Every film submitted to BBFF is done so on a NON-exclusive basis. Except as explicitly set forth below, each party's trademarks, copyrights, patents, trade secrets and intellectual property rights ("Intellectual Property") are and shall remain the sole property of that party.

SUBMISSION
Submission of films will be accepted on NTSC Region 0 or 1 DVD only. No electronic downloadable versions of any film will be accepted. If a film is in the pre-screening stage, it is acceptable to send in a DVD that is hand written, but entrant must be legally authorized to represent the work.

All films must be original or adapted works and your film must be in English, English subtitled, or dubbed in English.
For each DVD submitted, one (1) additional data disc containing film artwork (poster, etc.) should be submitted as well. One film per DVD and one film per submission form please. If entering more than one movie you must submit each project separately.

SHIPPING
Cost of shipping DVDs and promotional materials to the festival is the responsibility of the entrant. Exhibition copies must be sent to the festival prepaid. The festival can not accept responsibility for damage or loss of materials while in transit. Additionally, BBFF does not return materials, so please do not submit master copies.

SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
All programming decisions are made by the BoneBat Film Fest staff, and all decisions are final. If accepted, we will notify filmmakers by email. After acceptance, the final presentation version will need to be in our office one month before the festival. Be sure to indicate aspect ratio of your film/video as well as any other special screening/ presentation information we might need to know. BoneBat FF does not pay rental fees for any submitted work that is programmed.

PERFORMANCE AND PROMOTIONAL RIGHTS
By submitting your film to the BBFF you agree that, if your film is selected, you grant to BBFF NON-exclusive rights to a one-time screening of your film, as well as perpetual rights to use, display, promote and exhibit publicly any promotional materials provided on www.bonehand.com and related sites in reference to your participation in the festival, at BBFF’s discretion. You further agree that BBFF is permitted to use excerpts from your film for promotion, marketing and advertising of BBFF and BBFF events.

CONFIDENTIALITY
BBFF agrees to use its best efforts and judgment in not releasing any personal and/or confidential information about any filmmaker and/or their material(s) and/or information. You agree to not release any material(s) and/or information regarding BBFF or any of its staff, associates, or affiliates, either verbally or in writing, in any derogatory and/or defamatory and/or negative manner. Any materials received by BBFF that contain real-life cruelty to humans or animals, illegal acts, or hate will be delivered to the appropriate authorities. BBFF will not promote cruelty or hate.

PUBLIC STATEMENTS
Either party may use the other party's name for the purpose of making public statements such as press releases and marketing and promotional materials, provided that each party adheres to reasonable good faith and consideration standards for making such statements. In all cases, full consideration and representation of the respective roles and contributions of both parties shall be given in any such statement. You agree not to use any reference to BBFF in any pornographic, illegal, abusive, defamatory, offensive, or negative way whatsoever.
