YES Film Festival (YESFest) celebrates the creativity and diversity of independent film, bringing to the screen the best from all genres: documentaries, drama and short film. YES Film Festival films are original, inspiring, and above all, just plain good entertainment.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
About the Festival
This is the fourth annual YES Film Festival in Columbus, Indiana, an unexpected, unforgettable town nestled between the cornfields in the heart of the heartland. Once coined as "Athens of the Prairie," Columbus is rich with culture and arts and world-renowned architecture -- a perfect location for bringing good stories to life on the screen.
This amazing little town, featured recently on “CBS News Sunday Morning,” is internationally known for scores of buildings by world-famous architects including I.M. Pei, Eero Saarinen, Eliel Saarinen, Harry Weese, and art and sculpture by artists such as Henry Moore.
YES Film Festival is a fundraiser for the Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center, which assists low income families with a variety of much- needed services.
There are juried cash awards for documentary, narrative and short, and a cash audience choice award.
Filmmaker gives YES Film Festival permission to screen the film at its discretion at the festival, including encore screenings during the festival, and gives permission for excerpts of the film to be used for promotional purposes, for example, in a PSA.
Filmmaker must have permission to use music and and other copyrighted materials used in the film.
