Teen Film (Teen Filmmaker Category)
Young filmmakers between age 12 and 19 (whether a student or not ) are eligible to submit their films under Teen Film category. Films made on any GENRE and FORM can be submitted, as long as they are 15 minutes and under.
U.S & International Trailer
A Narrative Feature or a Feature Documentary Trailer must be under 5 minutes
Music Video
A music video must be under 5 minutes.
Actors Demo Reel
An Actor's Reel must be under 5 minute. Male and Female actors both can submit under this category. Union affiliation is not a requirement.
Screenplay (Narrative Feature)
A feature Screenplay must be over 75 pages and up to 150 pages.
Screenplay (Narrative Short)
A short Screenplay must be over 1 Pages and up to 50 pages.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
Silent River Film Festival dedicated to the independent filmmakers of the world has been established with a vision to bring "East and West" together to share their best work of films and by bringing "Cinema and Causes" on one platform, raise awareness about the issues that are important to us.

The festival also believes in creating more opportunities for the Female Filmmakers and supports Student Filmmakers, by discovering and recognizing them.

Silent River Film Festival is also a competition. Awards are given in the following categories in a formal award ceremony every year.


RIVER REIN AWARD
Given to the Best Director in Narrative Feature Film and Feature Documentary Category.

RIVER QUEST AWARD
Given to the Best Narrative Feature, Best Narrative Short, Best Feature Documentary, Best Short Documentary.

RIVER ADVENT AWARD
Given to the Best First Time Narrative Feature Film Director.

RIVER AMULET AWARD
Given to the Best Student Film Director for directing a Narrative Feature Film or a Feature Documentary.

RIVER PURSUIT AWARD
Given to a Student Director for making Best Narrative Short, Best Short Animation or Best Short Documentary.

RIVER CRADLE AWARD
Given to the Best Short Film made by a Teen.

RIVER ROCK AWARD
Given to the Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and a Child Actor for their work in a Feature Film submitted under Narrative Feature Film Category.

RIVER PEARL AWARD
Given to the Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress and a Child Actress for their work in a Feature Film submitted under Narrative Feature Film Category.

RIVER DISCOVERY AWARD
Given to an actor and an actress for their Best Acting Reel.

RIVER REVELATION AWARD
Given to the Best Trailer.

RIVER SCROLL AWARD
Given to the Best Feature Screenplay.

RIVER SCRIBBLE AWARD
Given to the Best Short Screenplay.




ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Third Annual Silent River Film Festival will be held from October 9th-12th in Los Angeles and in the beautiful city of Irvine, nestled in the heart of Southern California, not too far from Hollywood, the entertainment capital of the world.

Silent River Film Festival is a Non-Profit organization, founded by filmmaker, writer, poet and actor Kalpna Singh-Chitnis. Kalpna Singh-Chitnis is a versatile independent filmmaker of East Indian descent, based in Los Angeles and Irvine.

BEST ACTOR, BEST ACTRESS, BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR, BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS AND BEST CASTING DIRECTOR.
These categories must submit their work in a feature film.

SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES & CHECKLIST

1. ALL SUBMISSIONS must mention, what category they are applying for. Preview copies (3 copies) of a submitted work is requested to send in form of DVDs (NTSC FORMAT ONLY) This applies to all categories. Film must not have been released online.

2. Make sure all necessary info is on your DVD disk and on the plastic case. Info needed: TITLE OF FILM, RUNTIME, ASPECT RATIO, YOUR CONTACT INFO, WAB TRACKING NUMBER. Please, do not send a blank DVD or DISK without labeling requested info on it. We are not staffed to label your film.

3. A log-line and a Short Synopsis of your work must be included with your film submission.

4. Students must submit proof of enrollment by sending a copy of their student ID as well as contact information for the appropriate person at your school.

5. DO NOT submit pornography of any kind. Silent River Film Festival will not review or accept pornographic films, though adult content is accepted.

6. DO NOT use paper labels on the top of DVD lamination. Paper labels often cause DVDs to stick, skip, pixillate and stop.

7. DO NOT package your submission in shredded paper envelopes! Bubble-wrap is the best.

8. DO NOT send an SASE (self-addressed, stamped envelope), as preview materials cannot be returned.

9. FOREIGN SUBMISSIONS must mention "Non Commercial, No dollar value" in custom declaration form. Silent River Film Festival will not pay customs duties or fees.

10. You may enter more than one Feature, Documentary, Short, Music Video or Screenplay. There is no limit on how many entries you may submit, but each entry must have a separate entry and entry fee. You may send multiple submissions together in one package.

11. Films not in English, must have English subtitles. No dubbed video tapes or DVDs will be previewed or considered.

12. International Submissions must be paid by Credit Card. US Submissions may use Money Order as alternate payment method. Submission fee must be payable in the name of Silent River Film Festival. All Submission fees are Non-Refundable.

13. If your film is selected for the screening at the festival, you must send us a DVD as well as a BLUE-RAY DISK, (both) in NTSC format for the Final Screening. The film festival will only screen NTSC format media. Please make sure that your screening copies have all the info such as - TITLE OF THE FILM, RUNTIME, ASPECT RATIO, YOUR CONTACT INFO and TRACKING NUMBER.

14. Selected films may be shown online (via secure online screeners) during the festival for the sake of International audiences, to provide more visibility to the works of the filmmakers. Filmmakers must share this understanding and agree to the festival rules that once a film is officially selected, a submission can't be withdrawn, and the Silent River Film Festival will have the full authority to screen the film either in a theater or online (or both).

15. Award winners from all categories will be announced in a Formal in-person announcements at the Silent River Film Festival awards ceremony, where awards will be given out. Award winners will be announced on the Silent River Film Festival website and in our newsletters. If your film is selected for screening, or if your submission is a finalist, please make every effort to attend the film festival.

16. If your film wins an award, it may be shown more than once (at least twice) in one year time.

17. PRESS KIT & PUBLICITY PHOTOS: Filmmakers must submit their Press Kit and Publicity Photos with their submissions. The Press Kit must include Director's Statement and must be submitted only on Withoutabox. Please, DO NOT mail or e-mail the Press Kit.

18. A Feature, Short, Documentary, Music Video, Screenplay, and Trailer may be submitted by the screenwriter, director, producer, production company, distributor, animator, editor or cinematographer, as long as they are the authorized person to send the submission.

19. Silent River Film Festival reserves the right to decline selecting a semi-finalist, finalist or winner in any category and at any stage of the judging, if there are no acceptable entries or finalists in that category.

20. Read all the instructions and guidelines carefully before submitting your entry and signing the release form. Any dispute arising there after and challenged in the court will be subject to the hearings under US Law in the State of California, USA.

21. Please, do not send your submission materials via registered mail. We advise delivery confirmation instead. Entries must be postmarked by the deadline and mailed to -

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please read the following terms and conditions in connection with your film entry and related material to the Silent River Film Festival (S.R.F.F). If acceptable, please complete the entry form and sign below. 1. As the Director/Producer or the Authorized Person to submit the Film (film material) etc. I/we have submitted our Film Work to S.R.F.F. I/we warrant as the sole and exclusive owner(s) of all legal right and title thereto and have absolute authority to submit the enclosed material to Silent River Film Festival. 2. I/we will indemnify and hold harmless S.R.F.F. its judges, sponsors, partners, individually and collectively, from and against all claims, demands, losses, damages, costs, liabilities and expenses including legal expenses arising out of or in connection with any and all claims, or third party claims based on material submitted to the Silent River Film Festival. 3. I/we understand that the submission of the film or film materials alone doesn't grantee that the film will be screened at S.R.F.F. Silent River Film Festival have the rights to decide the finalists & the winners. Finalists and winners will permit S.R.F.F. to screen their film, use the title of their submitted work, log-line, their name, contact information, publicity stills, film footage and likeness, in pre & post-competition publicity & promotional efforts. 4. You understand and agree that once your film is selected for screening, you can't withdraw your film from the festival and cancel its screening. 5. S.R.F.F. may transfer the submitted screener to a required media format for screening, if needed, and that media may be used for S.R.F.F. promotional purposes. 6. By signing this form I/we understand and agree to all the terms and conditions of submission that are listed in this release form, Submission Guideline and the Entry Form. 7.
