MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Crown Heights Film Festival’s (CHFF) mission is to provide a voice and opportunities for filmmakers, to foster cross-arts collaboration, and to provide a social forum for filmmakers, Brooklyn residents, and the wider arts community.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The non-profit festival was founded in 2009 with the aim of creating a film-based social forum in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Each night of the festival is a unique journey through a variety of film genres from local and international filmmakers including animations, cross-disciplinary/transmedia films, family films, documentaries, feature length and short narratives.

Films are always screened in groups to promote dialogue and cultural exchange. The curation of the festival is based on an international open call submission process, with each submission reviewed by the curators as well as the Submissions Panel.

CHFF has quickly grown to become one of Brooklyn’s favorite cultural events and includes filmmaker Q&A sessions, panels, workshops, and an awards celebration. CHFF presents awards for a number of categories. Every year, a different visual artist is invited to create the awards.

The Crown Heights Film Festival, in partnership with Fractured Atlas, is a non-profit organization.
