MISSION & OBJECTIVE
Frameline’s mission is to change the world through the power of queer cinema. As a media arts non-profit, Frameline’s programs connect filmmakers and audiences in San Francisco and around the world.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Founded in 1977, the San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival is the longest-running, largest and most widely recognized LGBT film exhibition event in the world. As a community event with an annual attendance of over 63,000, the Festival is the most prominent and well-attended LGBT arts program in the Bay Area. Each year Festival audiences whistle and cheer over 200 of the most innovative, creative and challenging queer films from over 30 countries spanning the globe.

The San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival embarks on its 38th festival this year, and we want you to celebrate with us this June by allowing us to showcase the premiere of your film in one of our historic and beautiful movie houses.

Being a part of the San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival is not only a great experience, but it can also lead to a wider audience for your work. With over 100 print, radio, online and TV press attending, media coverage of the Festival is substantial and many of the films and videos that premiere at the Festival have gone on to be programmed at other film festivals and distributed nationally and around the world.

Every year, we try to expand the opportunities for exhibiting filmmakers by hosting over 400 official Festival Guests, including directors, producers, actors, programmers, distributors and buyers that range from small independent entities to major studios such as Strand Releasing, Wolfe Video, The Film Collaborative, TLA Releasing, HBO, Paramount, Showtime, and Warner Brothers. So put on your schmoozing shoes, because every year the Festival is one of the largest annual business meeting places for theatrical and educational film and video buyers in Northern California.

We work hard all year to dazzle audiences every June with the very best of international lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender cinema. Come get your story on the silver screen and submit your film for consideration to be shown at the San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival presented by Frameline.

We are highly committed to showcasing the best and most diverse work by, about and of interest to the LGBT community. To do this, we strongly encourage applications from women and people of color. The Festival is produced by Frameline, a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to the exhibition, distribution, funding and promotion of LGBT media arts.
