BWFF is committed to diversity and affordable access to the film festival circuit.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The Third Annual Brooklyn Women's Film Festival (BWFF) is a female focused film festival. Run by women, about women, and for everyone.

BWFF accepts submissions from projects directed, written and or and/or that feature a strong female presence on screen, while giving special preference to films that contain: one or more self-identifying females as chief production members including cinematographers, editors, and/or producers.

We special preference to work that transcends the Bechdel Test and tackles storytelling through a feminine lens.

Our films are fierce, edgy, and relevant.

Our inaugural festival saw 26 films shown over two days in Williamsburg, Brooklyn to sold out audiences with all ticket proceeds going to New York Women in Film and TV (NYWIFT).

In 2018, we are doubled our efforts and teamed up with the Wythe Hotel as well as NYWIFT again, to have twice as many screenings, films and networking opportunities in celebration of women in film.

In 2019, we have grown our team and have again partnered with the Wythe to continue providing a space for community and the best female directed shorts out.
