Feature Films
We ONLY accept feature-length entries of 70 minutes or longer. This Festival does not accept short subject entries and shorts will not be considered or returned for any reason.

PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR A FEE WAIVER! We do not issue waivers to WAB films as there is no way to implement a fair method for which films do or do not deserve waivers.

Pursuant to viewing online screeners: Statistics from online providers (Vimeo, YouTube) are often inaccurate and should not be relied on as proof of our review. Some services use averages or trends as facts. It is our intention to watch all screeners in their entirety -- for the integrity of our event and out of respect for the filmmaker. However, if after watching 75% if the film, it is apparent that the piece would not be programmed into our final selections, we reserve the right to cease watching.

The Scottsdale International Film Festival is a destination event and catalyst for connecting diverse filmmakers from around the world with film lovers in a fresh, thought-provoking, and enduring community of support. The Festival believes that its programming serves as a bridge uniting those who make films with those who enjoy film by providing access to works they may otherwise miss.

We showcase a blend of films to satisfy a broad range of interests and tastes. There are smaller films for the appreciative, daring cineaste; and bigger, more mainstream films that reveal the burgeoning of the commercial market—a wonderful mix of film genres from light-hearted comedies to period dramas, chosen from all corners of the world. There is much to see―and something for everyone!

Since its inception the Scottsdale International Film Festival has reached an audience of over 80,000 and has showcased more than 370 films and videos. We may not be the biggest film festival, but we specialize in bringing in programming which will not otherwise play in our market.

Over the last few years the attendance for the Scottsdale International Film Festival has steadily increased. In its 13th year things were no different. And by the time the closing night ceremonies on October 8th commenced, 9,000 people had visited the Harkins Shea 14 theatre to see 55 different films from around the globe, many of which had their Arizona premiere at the Festival.

The Festival took place from October 4-8 at the Harkins Shea 14 Theatre and consisted of 73 screenings, many of which were sold out.

Mainstream films to have their 2013 Scottsdale Film Fest/Arizona premieres included DECODING ANNIE PARKER starring Helen Hunt, Aaron Paul and Samantha Morton, and closed with AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY starring Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Ewan McGregor, Chris Cooper, Sam Shepard, and Abigail Breslin. The Festival also showcased the Arizona debuts of three all-star films; A.C.O.D starring Adam Scott, Jane Lynch, Richard Jenkins, Catherine O'Hara, and Amy Poehler; THE CONGRESS starring Robin Wright, Paul Giamatti, Jon Hamm, Danny Huston, Harvey Keitel; and LAST VEGAS starring Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, and Morgan Freeman.

We do not accept films that are already available via VOD, Cable, and TV, or which are already for rent/sale on DVD prior to, or during the Festival dates. Films may not have opened in any other Scottsdale/Phoenix area Festivals or theatrically prior to October 8, 2013. Films that have already shown in our market dilute the ability to convince patrons to pay for a ticket when they have been previously shown or can be purchased or rented.

We also accept Vimeo links in addition to Withoutabox Secure Online Screeners.

We do not have a membership to FestivalScope as it is not cost effective for this Festival. If your film is meant to be previewed by our programmers via FestivalScope you must provide us with both login and password access through July 31st, 2013.
