MISSION & OBJECTIVE
To provide viewers with a diverse selection of films from around the world and to encourage new filmmakers to expose their creative works to a gracious audience.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The 34-year-old Three Rivers Film Festival is a program of Pittsburgh Filmmakers, one of the oldest and largest media arts centers in the U.S. We are a 44-year-old non-profit institution that began as a filmmaking-equipment access cooperative. That co-op is still a pillar of our organization, which now also includes an accredited school and three theaters.
ORGANIZERS
Dorinda Hughes (Director of Administration and Marketing); Gary Kaboly (Director of Exhibition); Laura Jean Kahl (Exhibition Coordinator); Matt Wright (Theaters Manager)
GENERAL RULES
The competitive section of the 3RFF is open to short films under 25 minutes. Genres considered are short fiction, documentary, experimental and animation. There is a limit of three entries per person.
A completed entry form and entry fee (non-refundable) must accompany each piece submitted. Make checks payable to Pittsburgh Filmmakers.
Work submitted must have a copyright or have been completed no earlier than January 2014.
Do not send film reels or original materials. Submission disks will not be returned.
A number of works will be selected to be shown as part of the shorts program of the 3RFF (November 2015).
Of those selected for inclusion in the festival, cash awards will be given for first ($500), second ($300) and third ($200) place. Judging will be done by a festival jury. Staff members of Pittsburgh Filmmakers are welcome to enter, and their works may be selected for Festival inclusion but are not eligible for prize awards.
Selection announcements will be made on October 19, 2015 on the 3RFF website (www.3rff.com). Please, no calls.
