The DBFF was created to offer filmmakers of all kinds, a fun, warm, beautiful place to meet, mingle, network and party. Our relaxed and welcoming atmosphere will be a breath of fresh air to any filmmaker who has been busy producing or promoting their film. Downtown Boca will be the museum for filmmakers to exhibit their art!

The festival will further prove itself to be one-of-a-kind by having a special program dedicated to Xtreme sports films. Red Bull has already recognized the caliber of this festival, and has signed on, not only to sponsor, but also to kick off the Xtreme sports program with one of their own Xtreme Sports film.

Of course, we aren't all about leisure, and certainly some work must be done, so we will be offering a great deal of networking opportunities: such as a filmmaker brunch, filmmaker happy hour and a Meet the Programmers event. We will have daily filmmaker workshops with key people in the industry. We offer ample opportunities to meet the various film commissioners from throughout the state.

With a seven day festival planned, we are looking to program over 150 shorts, features, documentaries and Xtreme sports films. We now have a new category of music videos and Green Environment Friendly Films. We have a short script writing contest and a “Script to Reel shoot out during the FF. We invite all filmmakers to submit their projects and hope to see you in April in stunning and sunny Downtown Boca!
