|Music Video stylizing a music act in the horror genre of film. 5 minutes or less. Original works. You must have performing band permission.
|Short films of the Sci Fi/ Horror/ Animation/Documentary with horror theme All horror sub genres appreciated. 48 minutes or less including credits. Must be original works completed after January 1, 2009.
MISSION & OBJECTIVE
We strive to promote you the filmmaker. It is our goal to give you a platform for your talents within the horror film genre. We carefully select the best of the best in regards to horror shorts, features, animations, documentaries, and music videos to present to our loyal audience.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
We strongly encourage all horror genre filmmakers to submit to our festival. We are a film festival environment. We provide an intimate setting within the confines of the historic Colonial Theatre (built in 1939). In 2007, BENEATH THE SURFACE and short SUMMER JOB took home the best of festival "Oscorpse" award. BENEATH THE SURFACE has recently been placed into distribution by Well Go USA. In 2008, BONNIE & CLYDE VS. DRACULA took home the award and will soon too be in distribution. In 2009 CRYPTIC took home the award for best of festival Feature and due to our partnership with Rsquared film is guaranteed distribution. In 2010 ROGUE RIVER took home the award for best of feature and shall be distributed by Lions Gate in 2012. In 2011 Absentia won best feature and is currently being distributed in foreign and domestic markets. In 2012 Children Of Sorrow took home the prestigious Best of Festival Feature award. In 2013, ON AIR took home the award for Best of Festival Feature award. In 2013, we added a new distribution partner APPREHENSIVE FILMS.
Our festival is a multifacted horror genre entertainment event. We include dance, performance art, live music, and more to break the monotony of a continuous film viewing experience.
Should your film be selected into our festival you will always be welcomed to attend and be invited on stage for Q&A.
We play more films over fewer days than any other horror film festival in the world.

Entries must be original works. Entrant must have legal rights to film. Entrant gives permission to SHFF to exhibit film with no royalties expected. By entering film into consideration you give the Sacramento Horror Film Festival permission to use screen grabs, clips, or trailers for promotional use. Films must be of a horror/ thriller/ slasher/ movie maniac/ science fiction nature. Documentaries are allowed if they document horror. Entry does not guarantee a spot in the final program. Each film will be reviewed and each filmmaker will receive feedback if requested. Entry fees are NON REFUNDABLE. No waivers will be granted.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS

SHFF is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes.
The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.
The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless SHFF from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
