World Competition Feature Films
We are looking for narrative feature films from around the world that are 60 minutes or more of any style and genre. We will accept films that are two years old or less. There is no premiere requirement. Projects may have distribution. This is category is a competition.
US Competition Feature Films
We are looking for narrative feature films shot and from the United States that are 60 minutes up to 120 minutes of any style and genre. We will accept films that are two years old or less. There is no premiere requirement. Projects may have distribution. This is category is a competition.
Documentary Feature Films
We are looking for Documentary Feature Films from around the world that are 50 minutes or more of any style and genre. We will accept films that are two years old or less. There is no premiere requirement. Projects may have distribution. This category is a competition.
Short Films
We are looking for short films from around the world that are 25 minutes or less of any style and genre. We will accept films that are two years old or less. There is no premiere requirement. Projects may have distribution. This is category is a competition in 2 categories, World and US.
Animated Film
All animated films are invited to submit in this category. Films in this category may be of any animation type, including but not limited to: hand animated or computer generated, clay animation, stop motion or other animated medium. Films may be of any length, and may be narrative feature, music video, documentary or conservation films.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE

The festival's mission is to exhibit the best films from the around the world and create a safe haven festival event for filmmakers and cineastes to co exist and learn from each other. Our vision is to be the festival that links independent films to the proper audience and to find distribution during our event.

Accepting full-length features, short films and documentaries from professionals and amateurs alike, SohoFilmFest will hold screenings, panels and host social events and other networking opportunities for everyone involved. Leading figures from all disciplines of the film industry including distributors and media will be in attendance.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

SohoFilmFest celebrates the cutting-edge of digital technology while honoring traditional forms of storytelling, encourages new and seasoned filmmakers from here in New York City and around the world to create and send in their fresh and innovative cinematic pieces. By enticing filmmakers, journalists and cineastes from the US and across the globe, we expect to draw audiences to NYC, known for its artistic community and cultural sophistication. It is our way of helping boost the profile, the sense of pride, and the economy of the local community and the city itself.

The festival has grown steadily each year, attracting an increasing number of independent filmmakers and films from all over the world. SOHO International Film Festival was also named one of the MovieMakers Magazine's Top " 50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee "

RULES & REGULATIONS

SUBMISSION FEES:
NON ONLINE Payments in US dollars may be made by check or money order. Checks or money orders in US Dollars only should be made payable to SOHO International Film Festival. International entrants must use an international money order paid in US dollars through a US bank including Canadian entries.

SCREENING REQUIREMENTS: IF YOUR FILM IS SELECTED FOR EXHIBITON, PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT SOHO FILM FEST WILL REQUIRE:

*DVD.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURES:
* Please submit ONE (1) (NTSC) DVD clearly labeled with entry number (if online), title, type, email and contact name.

* One (1) Press Kit (DIGITAL) (if available)

* Payment (see Payment & Return).

SHIPPING INFORMATION:
* PACKAGING - Ship your cassette in a bubble-pack envelope. Do not use a fiberpack. The festival is NOT RESPONSIBLE for damage to tapes incurred in shipping.

* COSTS & LABELING - All shipping costs to and from New York City must be PAID FOR BY THE SENDER. All tapes MUST indicate title, shipper's name, and shipping address. To confirm receipt, please include a self-addressed stamped postcard with your entry.

* We cannot confirm receipt of packages by telephone. DO NOT CALL please email.

* International Entries - All entries from outside the US should be sent via Air Mail Registered, Fed Ex and UPS or by a parcel.

RETURN OF ENTRIES - Submission preview tapes WILL NOT be returned.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
* Films must have been completed after February, 2011.

* Submission DVD's, completed submission form, and submission fee must be postmarked by Early Deadline May 12, 2013, Regular Deadline Aug 6, 2013, Late Deadline Nov 7, 2013 and received no later than WAB Extended Deadline Febuary 15, 2014

* World and US Premieres are not required.

* All films and videos in a language other than English must be subtitled in English for Festival presentation.

* Filmmakers must deliver final format (as indicated) for festival screening. No exceptions will be permitted.

FESTIVAL AWARDS:
All features, shorts and documentaries are eligible for all Awards. Awards and prizes will be given but are to be determined at a later time.

ALL DECISIONS BY OUR JUDGES ARE FINAL.

Any taxes as a result of prizes are the complete responsibility of the people/persons that submit the film.

To submit a film you must hold or share copyright of the film and its content.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS

SOHO International Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes.

The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.

The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless SOHO International Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
