Join us for the 8th annual San Jose International Short Film Festival, listed as one of the "Top 50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee" in 2014 by MovieMaker Magazine. This year our theme is “Discover the Wonder” where we’ll uncover a treasure trove of World Class Short Films from across the globe.

Our mission is to bring the best in short form storytelling to appreciative audiences here in the Silicon Valley.

Now in our 8th year, our audiences have enjoyed our special screenings, after-parties and our incredible Meet the Filmmaker events, where we explore the excellence in filmmaking first-hand with interviews prior and after screenings - last year we were proud to present Jennifer Morrison (Once Upon A Time) in her incredible directorial debut of the film Warning Labels, starring Karen Gillan (Dr Who) & Josh Lawson (House of Lies).

As we present our festival in the heart of Silicon Valley, we embrace technology from films shot on smartphones to new digital cinema cameras that blow us away. We are pleased to present each film in a state-of-the-art theater with 4K projection, plus each film will be projected via DCP (Digital Cinema Package) with audio encoded with up to 5.1 surround channels (we have heard filmmakers say our presentation is the best they’ve seen).

This year we will screen over 160 amazing short films to excited Silicon Valley audiences October 20th - 23rd, 2016. Comedy shorts, shocking and hilarious, a dark comedy block that makes people scream and laugh, animation for both children and adults, documentaries that teach and inform, plus sci-fi and fantasy shorts that will unlock the wonder, are but a few categories we program. Accepting films of all types, from every category from a one min run time up to 30 min in length (but with 90 min blocks, we can only program a few of the really longer films, so keep that in mind).

Bringing together filmmakers, industry executives, Silicon Valley notables and celebrities, to mix and mingle with visitors and patrons seeking to discover new filmmakers and their talented projects. Last year we had over 100 filmmakers, actors and crew members in attendance, this year we would love to meet YOU.

Taking place over 4-days - come be part of workshops and panels, special Filmmakers events, Opening & Closing Night After-Parties and much more.

Awards include:
Best Short Film
Best Comedy Short
Best Animation
Best Documentary
Audience Awards Winner
